Take-Two has announced that upcoming sequels Mafia II and Red Dead Redemption have been pushed back until the first half of the company’s 2010 fiscal year.
Both heavy hitters were previously scheduled for release by the end of the current financial year ending October 31. However, they’ll now turn up at some point during the period November 1, 2009 – April 30, 2010, with a release this side of Christmas looking unlikely.
Take-Two said in a statement that the delay was put in place "to allow additional development time for the titles and to maximise their full potential in terms of the quality of the player experience and market performance.”
Mafia II will be hitting PlayStation 3, PC and Xbox 360, while Red Dead Redemption will be coming to PS3 and Xbox 360 only. Stay tuned.
