LucasArts has today unwrapped a fresh announcement in the form of Lego Star Wars III: The Clone Wars, due for release this autumn on PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, PSP and DS platforms.
According to the press blurb, the sequel will take place during the same time frame as the first season of the animated TV series, and is set to feature familiar faces from both the show and past Lego Star Wars games.
LucasArts bigwig Darell Rodriguez commented: “The LEGO Star Wars franchise is a massive hit with fans, bringing in sales of over 20 million units worldwide. We’re thrilled to extend this experience to LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars, delivering the humour and fun players expect from this award winning franchise.”
“LucasArts is an amazing partner, and working with them on the next iteration of the LEGO Star Wars series continues to be a great experience,” enthused TT Games’ Tom Stone.
We’ll have more on Lego Star Wars III: The Clone Wars as it breaks.

Way to ruin a franchise..they finished the movies so instead of putting it to rest they make a new game based off a crappy spinoff cartoon !!?

already too much. The complete saga game was awesome and I love it, but after playing that one, any other lego games are exactly the same... the only thing that changes is the theme; gameplay is always the same
so no matter if it's based on star wars, harry potter or spiderman or transformers, there's already too many lego games

Okay...this is ridiculous...
No, wait...it started getting ridiculous when they came up with the idea to make a cartoon based on the Clone Wars...THAT'S when I said "Let it gooooooo!"...
If you ask me, the last things that should have happened in the Star Wars universe was that Genndy Tartakovski cartoon mini-series and Episode III...next thing you know, we'll hear news of a Lego Star Wars: The Force Unleashed game in development...

If anything they should be focusing on continuing the movie series, rather than these games and cartoon movies that have been releasing. The Clone Wars has been overdone much as it is, continuing it by giving it a Lego game is just over the top if you ask me. They did the first three Star Wars with the first, and the last three with the second installment to the series. No need to revisit the Clone Wars. Isn't even an exciting era.

I love the Lego games but 3 Star Wars versions is milking it too far. I'm looking forward to the Harry Potter versions as they can add a new spin to it, and the environments will be great. I think I'll give SW3 a miss. Bring on Lego Lord of the Rings.
