Sony has released a ton of new shots of the PlayStation Move. By now you probably know the basics. PlayStation Move is Sony’s motion controller. It uses the PlayStation Eye and has a supplemental wireless sub-controller.
The Eye tracks the movements of the wand through the colored ball on top. There are regular buttons on the wand while the sub-controller has an analog stick and buttons.
Packages will be sold that include a PS3, Move, and Eye, and different variations of the motion controller.
Check out these pictures – more are available here.

Well, that's what happens with succesful ideas, they get copied. I think it's the right move on Sonys side though. You're basically making a superior console even more versatile. I don't think this is directed at every customer, but rather at those who have families (or girlfriends), as motion control is a relatively simple concept and makes the ps3 more accessible

so now i push the X & O buttons with my left thumb? that's probably going to be tough to get used to. i'm sure sony's r&d team worked it all out though.

Look at it like this. There are big boy guns and little boy guns, There are big boy consoles and little boy consoles (and consoles for tweens right xbox heehee) you only get your feet wet enough to decide to go all in. the wii has run its feet wet motion gaming cycle now it's time for Sony once again to do what wii wasn't prepared to do make a hard core motion controller. Looks and feels totally realistic. Just like when Sony and Xbox first came out Xbox wasn't prepared to make a full HD console otherwise it would have built it in.
The short sited were super excited for the watered down Halo box 360. Sony said we are going to truly make a NEXT GEN machine yes it costs more but the Value will show its self in the LONG RUN. Now look sony is poised to add motion controls AND 3D gaming within 2010.
The playstation is what we thought it was - A Big Boys Gaming/Entertainment/Media/Internet/Virtual world Unit.Get all that is gaming at TCsGotIT.com -

It only does everything, including playing the Wii's games.
The thing is they want to grab some of the market that nintendo's 16 billion units suggest is out there. But at the same time provide games that we'd like to play too. Granted they havent shown much more than better looking Wii games and Socom 4 but keep in mind the Wii is not an HD system with processing power like the PS3 so there's a chance we could see a lot more indept games eventually.
Also this is far better than the Wiimote, it's more accurate, works faster and less likely to be jammed into a plastic steering wheel.
Also the Sub controller is not a requirement, you can still use your sixaixis/Dualshock controllers.

the difference with this and the wii motion controller is that the wii motion controller sucks. it's always twitching out and stuff. This is a real piece of technology that will work how it's supposed to....hopefully. and it has 1:1 motion sensing. pretty sick if you ask me, i can't wait.

Sure it's a copy. Pretty much every video game controller out there is somewhat of a copy of the last one. Yeah, the button layouts are different, and they're shaped somewhat differently, but at the end of the day, you hold it with two hands and press buttons with your thumbs (and shoulder buttons with your fingers). Nintendo set the trend for how motion controllers would look, and Sony took that and (hopefully) improved upon it. What else was there to expect?

hmm, i think a ps3 remake of resident evil 4 with PS MOVE compatiblity would be pretty sweet !
but yea looks pretty good. i always ruled out the idea of getting one..but looking at the final product outcome my ps3 fanboyism will probaly end up adding it to my pile of un-used sony peripherals ;)..

it looks nice but in the GDC demo of the controllers...the VERY first demo was 2 women playing a game with each girl having 2 of the Playstation Move controllers...does that mean that some games u'll need 2 Playstation Move controllers to play the game with (per person)!?!?? or can u use the sub-controller instead?? I don't understand!?!?

I'm all for new technology to add to the PS3 to make it better. but that is one ugly contoller. I wonder if any of the PSN mini games will be made to use its fuctionality. Bowling and tennis games for example. You know the ones Wii has to offer. It will be a good excuse for me not to get a Wii for my kids.

So... what is Nintendo going to do for Wii 2???
now they are going to have to do much more then just HD Wii esp if this controller is much more accurate (and all the extra tech is patented by Sony)
Not hateing on Wii i have one but i hope they are planning more then a WiiHD upgrade.
and yeah this looks great so much smaller then the Wii controller (they got the little system we got the little controller's lol.
