Kojima says he will leave industry if he messes up next project

on 15 April 2010

Hideo Kojima has stated that he will probably have to leave the videogames industry if he botches his next project.

Writing on his Twitter, the Metal Gear Solid creator commented, “The next project will challenge a certain type of taboo. If I mess up, I’ll probably have to leave the industry.”

He further added: “However, I don’t want to pass by avoiding that. I turn 47 this year. It’s been 24 years since I started making games. Today, I got an ally who would happily support me in that risk. Although it’s just one person. For a start, it’s good,”

Kojima-san has already divulged some juicy tidbits concerning the nature of his next title, and from the sound of things, there's a good chance it may end up being a third iteration in the Zone of the Enders franchise.

We’ll keep you posted.
