PS3 has the best rated library of games to date

While some of your friends may lead you to believe that the current game library for the PlayStation 3 is nothing to brag about, they may be wrong. Gamefunk.com has released a graph detailing what may be the biggest issue for the Nintendo Wii right now, however, what we could gather from the graph itself is the fact that the PS3 may just have the best game library available. They used the idea that games rated over 80 are "good" and games rated under 60 are "poor." Through this they were able to establish this table.

As you can see for yourself, the PlayStation 3 has a significant lead on both rival platforms in regards to how large of a percentage of its library is filled with good games. GameFunk utilized GameRankings.com to compile these averages and from what we can tell, the graph is very accurate. Of course this doesn't take into account the fact that some libraries are much larger than others thus resulting in the higher opportunity to have less than stellar games within them.
Regardless of how you want to look at it, the graph doesn't lie or mislead its onlookers. For fans of both the PS3 and the 360, we feel you both can be proud of the libraries you have to enjoy at this current time.

@Neameto. It's pretty simple: Nintendo did play their cards right by making a more interactive and easily accessable 'non-gamer friendly' console through motion sensing. However, there's not a lot of 3rd party developers doing anything really revolutionary with it.

The Wii is cool and the controllers are just something else but with out good third party games the system is pretty much worthless. Yeah few good 1st party games are awsome but eventually you will get tired of mario. No trashing intended I have wii but I really havent played any 3rd party game yet that I think is kick azz. Third party developers are not doing anything with the tech.

I knew this. Glad someone else noticed. And yes, SCEA was the TOP RATED developer last year. They make a lot of games that many of you "mainstream" gamers don't play (or play anymore). For instance, did you know that MLB The Show 06, 07, and 08 were all the top-selling baseball game overall? This is especially difficult because it's competition (2K6, 7, and 8 by Take-Two) is Xplatform. MLB only had PSP, PS2 and PS3 (no MLB 06 for PS3 though, of course).

LOL @ the wii! I still dont consider it a next-gen console. It may be considered quality entertainment, just not next-gen. This kills the argument that xboxfanboys try to throw in our faces.

I'm not surprised. The PS3 may have less games, but the PS3 obviously has the best quality games and quality always prevails over quantity.
And the Wii has so much "shovel-ware" on the console it's just ridiculous. 3rd party Developers are just making half a** games on the Wii in an attempt to make a boat load of money on just one game. No More Heroes is one of the only 3rd party Wii games that actually got pretty good reviews and it's just the 1st party Wii games that get the high reviews.
With the upcoming PS3 exclusives for this year, I'm anticipating even more good ratings for PS3 games. The only game on the PS3 that I can really think of that got really bad reviews is Lair, but Lair only got the bad reviews because of the required Sixaxis controls and no analog controls. Lair should be re-reviewed because now there's a patch for Analog controls.
But the Wii has the most amount of Low-rated games and it's no joke, I see them every month with 3.0/10 and 4.0/10 reviews in the gaming magazines every month.

Sorry to call a spade a spade, but these are statistics for the mentally challenged. It’s weak propaganda to show the ratio of good games to bad games for each console. It's a way of making a console with fewer good games look better than another console because it has EVEN FEWER junky games. Less games is only good on a poorly crafted chart. The PS3 rocks—not because of game selection (yet), but because of other features... Blu-ray, larger disc capacity, sixaxis, free on-line play, HDMI, ever-improving software, hardware stability, and blue-tooth to name a few. The PS3 can win without deception.

The PS3 has a better library because it has VARIETY. 360 = Shooters, Wii = Craptastic shovelware, PS3 = Everything in between.

This graph looks too fake to take seriously though.

"GameFunk utilized GameRankings.com to compile these averages and from what we can tell, the graph is very accurate"
Looks like your theory makes no sence and your laughter is not nessessary. They didnt just randomly make up the information here. Also PSU has backed them up with their findings. If you are not familar with gamerankings I suggest you go look it up.
Your entire posting history is largly pro 360. Its pretty obvious by just clicking on your name your a pretty big MS fanboy. Does it really hurt you that much to read these things that you need to post the way you do? What do you gain from trying posting capitalized bold words like PLEASE and THE. Its not hard to see what your trying to accomplish with your posts. Its just to bad that you failed in your attempt. Now lets go look at those stats again shall we. Maybe you could go make your own graph with the information from gamerankings.com.

u know this graph is miss leding cos PS3 may have the 35% of games rated 80% and above but that is of the whole ps3 library so for example ps3 has 100 games in its library and 35% are rated 80% and above then they have 35 good games where as 360 has 200 games with 25% of them 80% and above so they have 50 good games.
we all know that at this time right now with out all the great exclusives ps3 is gettin later this year 360 has the advantage with great games but 360 also got alot of poor games so its percent is goin to go down.

You all have to realize that the ps3 has a smaller game library than the 360. So if they all had the same amount of games, how would that affect the graph geniuses?

More games doesn't mean crappy games. At least not unless you own a Wii. There is no way to prove that if the PS3 had more games it would have more games rated lower then 60. In fact if you look at whats comming up later this year that graph is only going to at least stay the same, and looks like it will go up. Just cause MS and Wii throws out crappy game after crappy game, doesn't mean the Sonys game makers want to do the same thing.
360 owners will by anything, thats been proven. They love their games. A developer only has to create a game and they know it will sell and they will make money. A PS3 developer knows in order to sell the game, its needs to be outstanding. Sony fans don't want sub par or even par. Look at Uncharted, it was amazing and still didn't as good as people thought. Then look at Halo 3. Not a great game, its good, but not the best in the series and yet it sold amazing.

these are all valid comments..as we know, everyone has their own opinion..correct me if i'm wrong, but aren't these stats collected from reviewers and gamers alike? in my opinion statistics, are well, statistics but does that count for all of the 3 console owners out there who did not vote or rate these games? moreover,a few good reviews for a particular game does not mean that i will like it.i think in the end,it depends on the individual,us "gamers" to try that game and decide for ourselves.
