The next title in the Call of Duty series, officially called Call of Duty: World at War, will be released in November. This is according to an Activision representative, who although didn't provide a specific date, did at least narrow the window down from "Autumn 2008".
The Treyarch-developed title (as opposed to the Infinity Ward-developed Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare) goes back to the World War 2 scene. One of its most touted new features is two player co-operative play, which is becoming an increasingly common inclusion in first person shooters. The game is being developed on the Modern Warfare engine, so expect the same, if not better, visuals and excellent gameplay.
Activision's policy of switching between the two developers for each version of Call of Duty has had mixed results in the past. Let's hope Treyarch follows up last year's best selling title with another hit.

didnt think it would be out till next year this is good news looking forward to it
So how much have been dumbed so the game can come out in 2008 - they said it would be out in 2009 as CoD6, but think it would be a bad mistake considering the FPS games in early 2009 (Killzone)
duh, cod is has always been released in november
Thats great news cant wait for this game.

I dont care for COD.
dont think I will be getting this game I am done with WWII games I dont care how good people say its is im done I dont want to play anymore WWII games.
maybe the month after, im going to be way busy with R2 and other games
psn id: gingo... still not sure if i'll get this or not, not because its back to WW2 but with the amount of great games coming i might not have the money
I'm not getting it, not because it's in a WWII setting (like some of you) ,but because I've never really liked the Call of Duty series (that goes for CoD4 too). Anyway this CoD will probably not be as good as Modern Warefare becuase it's Treyarch developing and not Infinty Ward.
This is not made by infinity ward (the guys who made the good CoD games) this is made by Treyarch (CoD 3) and that sucked.
So people, please done get your hopes up too high, its CoD 6 you want to watch out for.
I don't know. This game looks...Okay. I hope the online is as good as COD4.
I dont get people who say "i dont like ww2 games". They are just being narrow minded. WW2 rifles are much more fun then modern day assualt rifles. :)
no no no ..... no more WWII FBS games for me .... i'll pass this game
this shud be well gud apart frm the rubbishy old guns were u reload afta every shot hopefully not tho
WWII is so nice compared to modern. japanese point of view might be a nice touch.... hope they make it better than cod3. they should.
Stop calling this game Call of Duty 5, because it isn't.
I was never a huge CoD fan until MF came out. I have the other CoD but the best one in my opinion is the MF. I think going back to the whole WW conecpt is going to ruin everything that MF did. I just hope that this next installment isnt a complete let down.
Would of got this but with dead space ,far cry 2 and lbp out in oct, I am not going to buy this as well. I will get it later or wait for cod6.
I think this will be a good game, hopefully online will be as good as COD6, but to e honest with LBP coming out a month before, I doubt I will buy it for a long time...that will keep me busy for a long long time.
