High NGP Pricing Hinted at By Jack Tretton?

You haven't looked at the roadmaps have you? In terms of specs similar SoC should hit market by 2012. but since it won't be dedicated, NGP will still have upper hand. By 2014/15 the SoC's will be much more powerful than the NGP spec wise. The tegra (kal El) scheduled for 2012 is already...

High NGP Pricing Hinted at By Jack Tretton?

Maybe, but I can't help but think that before the 4th or 5th year is up for the NGP, it would look dated in comparison to other hardware on the market.

More original IPs and less console-to-handheld ported titles, please...

well.... There were alot of new ip for the psp. if we get around the same amount for ngp, I'll be happy.

The hardware of course. Because of concerns about heat and battery power, chances are we are not going to see the higher end of the scale when it comes to processing power. What we will notice more than anything is the lack of ram first. The power is going to be enough to make monsters in terms...

Personally, I don't think that is enough ram. If sony was forward thinking they would double it for both pools. The roadmap for the tegra's and other devices will step over the NGP at least by 2014 and its only saving grace would be the fixed HW but man.... I don't think 512 is going to help...

But it is cutting edge. Especially in what it is compared "to". Tech on a micro scale is always expensive. The most expensive elements are normally any Soc, the ram and the screens "depending on how the screen is made. Take for instance the Zune HD has a 480 x 272 3.3 inch oled screen with 167...

High NGP Pricing Hinted at By Jack Tretton?

That is my point. If you are so versed in the tech specifications and are willing to use them in comparison to the NGP, then make the same effort over the price of these devices as well. You are implying some sort of point of comparison, then stick to it. Smh indeed.

High NGP Pricing Hinted at By Jack Tretton?

Ok, but we don't know the price of the console yet either, so that point is moot. But let us take it back to what "normally" happens on the market, since you had no problem talking about the Zune HD when referring to consoles, you must understand how this takes apart your arguement. There have...

I already did. Those chips have not made it to the market. There is no mobile device that has a quad core arm cpu much less a combo of a quad core cpu and quad core gpu. That makes it cutting edge.

I am sure you heard of quantum computing as well. When it is actually released on market, then it will be cutting edge. Hearing about future tech before it hits market doesn't make it "old". Why are you trying so hard btw?

It is also going to be the first device to have both a quad core CPU and a quad core GPU of those specification. The + on the end of the specs indicate unique sony based additions so we still don't have the full picture of what they put in the device. The only thing that would stop this device...

That is what the normally do. Iirc, I don't think any playstation has been sold at a profit during launch. Not even the PS1.

$400 is a bit high but understandable when looking at similar tech in cell phones.I prefer and expect it to be under that amount, but if it is above that, I will most likely have to skip launch of that product.

Vision Game Engine for NGP Real-time Tech Demo

And who would fund them? Not all companies that make engines have the talent necessary to make a game. This company is no epic. There are alot more roles involved in making a game than there are for making the software that the game is based off of. Have you ever seen Autodesk make a feature...

Vision Game Engine for NGP Real-time Tech Demo

Well its most likely because the same people who make the engine are most likely different then the people who actually make games. The point of a tech demo is not to pigeon hole creativity it is simply to show features. What happens if they create a "bad game"? Why would they risk that...
