Finished I am Legend.. Promptly finished a really good book called The Invisibles by Roy Jacobsen, about surviving by and of the sea.

I've heard that the book I Am Legend is an excellent read and trumps the movie severally. Is it worth it?

Definitely worth reading. It's a breath of fresh air in a landscape where vampires are an infinite source of cliché romance novels.

I suppose I'll be the one to bump this thread into the new year.

Currently reading through the first deluxe edition book of the graphic novel series DMZ by Brian Wood. I've heard about this graphic novel years ago but never did get around to reading it until now. It's off to a good start so far. I'll most likely read the next two books, assuming the first one ends well.

I Am Legend is an excellent book. I just finished The Martian. You might've heard of it.

    I can't read anymore.
I try but get bored quickly, it's weird because I used to read lots when I was younger. One of my favourite authors back then was Dick king smith.

The Prince? Well, err.... I've read the preface not got into the guts of the book yet.

Been watching some documentary stuff too. Ever heard of somewhere in your country called Gobekli Tepi? It's in the east, just above Syria. Very interesting old site there, 12,000 years old! I've got into some alternative history stuff so been distracted by that. Book is for bedtime

Never heard of it. We don't care of old sites we care for tall buildings. I am sure the guys on the area doing cleaning and researching duty are all Europeans. But it was really suprising that I never hit anything about that on news. Where did you heard it?

    Currently reading Mouses and Humans.

I heard about it from a friend who watched this podcast. Some interesting stuff in there. Some will say it's all hocus pocus but there are questions that need answering when you look at some of the evidence.

    Currently reading Mouses and Humans.
Of Mice and Men? I prefer the way you say it

This is my translation and the book is originally Turkish so my word is absolute

Finished 'The Ocean at the end of The Lane' and 'Graveyard book' a while ago. Both highly enjoyable.

Currently reading 'The lies of Lock Lamora'. A bit tougher to read, still quite enjoyable. Author doesn't hold a candle to ^Neil Gaiman though

    Edit: Horrible spelling error there

Just not long finished the Bill Hodges trilogy by Stephen King which consist of Mr Mercedes then Finders Keepers and concluding with End of Watch. They were all very good even if End of Watch was the weakest of the trilogy.
I'm now started reading Shatter the Bones by Stuart MacBride who is one of my favourite authors.

For any people who are seriously into Sci-Fi read the Firefall series, Book 1: Blindsight and Book 2: Echopraxia. The author incorporates some hard physics, psychology, and other sciences into the story and paints a horrifying tale of our first experience with an alien race who's intelligence dwarfs ours beyond comprehension.

For another sci-fi recommendation I love the military sci-fi series Frontlines by Marko Kloos, truly brilliant stuff. He goes into quite a lot of detail but not too much.

I find hard sci-fi books a bit overwhelming, personally. =(

Same. I'll only ever recommend contemporary fiction.

I can usually read multiple books at the same time, but now that I have a newborn and a toddler I haven't had the time! Right now I'm reading The Three Musketeers by Alexander Dumas . I have been meaning to read it forever!

I am reading this too (The Three Musketeers), among many other books. About two hundred pages in. I'm also reading Lord of Chaos by Robert Jordan, book six of The Wheel of Time and Children of Dune by Frank Herbert.

I am finising up a 4 book series about the civil war by Jeff shaara. It's pretty good and it follows the war from perspectives of both side.
