Why do I need to be a separate AC adapter?

Also; if the USB is proprietary on Vita's side, why does it come separate?

It doesn't, USB and AC cables come with the system, these are just if you lose them or they break.
Is it confirmed the USB comes with it? Neither of my PSPs came with a USB.
Vita uses a proprietary slot like the Go! You wont have this cable lying around like you would a mini USB.
But thats only the side that goes into the Vita, the other side plugs into PS3/PC? If not how are we supposed to transfer videos/music etc. to it?
I am not sure I understand what you are asking.

If it is propriety then one side will be custom and there will be a normal usb size one on other.
High res screen of the usb cable in the spoiler tags...
Bloody hell. What was the harm in just using normal mini-usb that the psp had?
Wait, what the fuck? A screen protector? Why can't they add some decent form of scratch resistance?
Yeah I know right. Unless there is some sort of scratch resistence on the Vita, but theyre just selling these official scratch protectors to make quick buck. Wouldnt surprise me

Though it also wouldnt surprise me if its a scratch magnet. The PSPs were, and so are PS3s (the sides on the slims suffer from micro scratches so much) Annoys the fuck out of me

Just about all devices like this have scratch resistance on the screen. That doesn't mean a company, first or third party, will sell you a screen protector. The main logic is IF something bad happens you can replace the screen protector for a small fraction of the cost, where is IF something happens to the scratch resistant screen it cannot be easily or cheaply replaced.

Either way accessories such as these listed are designed for pull more money from the consumer before adding convenience.

Looks like my phone connector. I would laugh if it was. I won't be ditching my phone accessories any time soon. They'll come in useful on my PSV.

And anyone who thinks the system won't have an AC adapter in the box is kidding themselves. Sony would have to be suicidal to do that. Their shareholders wouldn't allow it, because that would be the biggest F*** you to their customers you could imagine.

Also, I'm still not convinced that the "memory cards" aren't just M2, which may not be SD but it's hardly exclusive to the Vita. Sandisk made both of my MS pro duo cards for my PSPs, and I'm sure they'll put out a cheap M2 as well. As for the "PS Vita" branding on it, well... Pro Duos made for PSP had "PSP" branding on them, too. I just never bought one of those.

Looks a little like a walkman connection, my bet is it wont fit anything you already own. Everything about the Vita will not work with anything you own to prevent hacking. Even the battery has been locked inside to prevent hacking that way too.

It should come with usb cable and wall charger, if it does not come with wall charger, that it has to be charged via usb on pc or so, and if you dont have usb cable, then you cant charge it at all :D

It comes with both a usb cable and ac adaptor. I believe the usb cable is also how the PSVita connects to the ac adaptor, portable charger, car adaptor, etc..

This is what each package of the PSVita includes in Japan.

3G/WiFi Model (First 500k)
・PlayStation®Vita 3G/Wi-Fi model ×1
・USB cable ×1
・AC adaptor ×1
・Power cord ×1
・Printed materials ×1
・SIM card ×1 (Inserted in the system) (also includes prepaid data plan 100h)

3G/WiFi Model (After first 500k)
・PlayStation®Vita 3G/Wi-Fi model ×1
・USB cable ×1
・AC adaptor ×1
・Power cord ×1
・Printed materials ×1
・SIM card ×1 (Inserted in the system) (also includes prepaid data plan 20h)

WiFi Only Model
・PlayStation®Vita Wi-Fi model ×1
・USB cable ×1
・AC adaptor ×1
・Power cord ×1

Edit: I don't know how good they will be, but I really like the look of the earbuds.
