that doesnt really look like a reflection , and actually i dont like the casing at all...its like they were so busy developing the games and CPU and stuff that they didint have time to focus on the design so they just made it quickly , and i'd hate not being able to put anything on top of it
actually, they designed the case with the components in mind, because they needed a proper way of keeping it cool.

i always say that its whats on the inside that counts, but i think the look of the PS3 is innovative as well as practical, and that represents sony

Am I the only one who prefers the white version? Looks fresh.
No, I really like the look of the white version! My PSP is the ceramic white one, largely for looks, but also hides the fingerprints very well (which shouldn't be a problem for the PS3, but still...!) Having said that, I think the piano-black PS3 looks stunning!

I voted with the majority on this one. I think the design is good, I like it, but IMO it's not as stylish as the Xbox 360. The only thing Microsoft got wrong with their design was the colour. They should have gone pure white, like the PSP, not some off-white colour.

At the end of the day though, it's only superficial, and within reason I don't really care what it looks like or what colour it is.

I wouldn't say its a blowing mind concept to me but surely a very welcome change from current gen, the casing and overall design of the console is pretty nice, thumbs up.

I like the black glossy look while standing vertical, that IMO is the best looking system I see of the 3, sooooo dreamy. Other than that, it looks meh sitting horizontal and the other colors a average for the system. Maybe blue, red, or green would look cool.

It's OK at best for me. I'm not too big on the door flipping open thing. And for some reason, i think it looks horrible when it's horizontal. Not too bad when it's vertical.

I like the shape of it but don't like the black part where the Discs go.
i would have to agree i hate the way the disc port is maybe they could have done it the way the little ps2 is with the lid that lifts up but it does make it hard to play a burned game with the swap method but i'm sure someone will find a way to get a burned game in there.

yes I love the deisgn i think it looks Perfect, Especially the black model with chrome front where the disk slot is, It will match my Samsung HDTV perfects black and silver, and my surround sound, Althought it is still pretty similar to the ps2. just curvier :D

i'm glad they got rid of the lip that flips up. although it may not be an issue for many/most, if the console is already quite big, having an extra thing that rises up may mean it wont fit under TVs if you also have a dvd player etc.

with a tray or a slot-loader, there's no need to worry about having anything on top. and slot-loading is much cooler than tray, so go slot loading!!!

Amen to that! SONY will surely go with the slot loader, because a lot of their DVD players are slot loading, and it also helps make it more difficult to execute a "disc swap" by jamming a knife in or sticking some chewing gum down over a switch!

shud b more concave, instead of convex
i.e. it shold look more like the xbox 360.

haha, jk. though i do like the look of the 360 more than the ps3.
Except that miserable disc tray the 360 carries, I tested that thing out at my friend's and it popped out in the most fragile state i've ever seen a disc tray pop out in! I laugh at 360 and it's fragile disc tray!

That's a reflection dUm%@$$

Anyways I love the design it looks amazing
Personally concave looks disgusting, especially since the 360 isn't fully concave. Its just a lame attempt at something enhaling you can still see it's predecessors bulk showing!

This is my 2 cents, I think it looks very futuristic and I love it, but the 360 looks very sleek and sexy in the white but when I see the PS3 in white, I would think of it of girly console lol. Both consoles look great. Iam getting the black version.

Maybe true for the first few months. But I would bet the black version will come out sometime.

What the Color, design ? If were talking about color then no, I wanted the color to be black instead of silver(which is what their going with..... or am I wrong?). But if were talking about the design then yes I think it looks fine. :)
No your right they are only going with the Silver color and yes I would of liked the black better as well.

I read this in an interview that had Ken in it and he was asked about the three different colored ps3's and whether or not they would be available at launch and Ken said that after him and "marketers" talked about it and they decided on silver because they thought it would look better than the other colors when the console is used as it supposed to be used...as the center piece of a living room.

Yes, it's been confirmed by Kutaragi himself. He said it in an interview back at e3 that they had prepared three mockups and decided on the silver one in the end. He said that the PS3 would be available in silver at launch, but he didn't mention if it would be the only colour for the console, so there's still hope for a glossy black PS3 some time after launch.

Edit: Mika beat me to it

I like it a lot, it looks aerodynamic so if it needs to be thrown it will fly haha. That and it looks futuristic with its sleek curves which is what im guessing sony wanted- the future of videogaming. And i dont know what you guys are talking about i have never read anywhere where he said "there will only be silver consoles at launch" I have read that he liked that version more but NOT that only silver will be available. I dont think that is a good marketing job there. Why would there be three colors shown and he not announce asap that only silver will be available so people wont be led on. i myself want a white one, and im sure not everyone wants a silver one, so for sony to just put out silver at launch would not be a good idea.

It's so-so. I don't like it, but I don't hate it. To me, it resembles too much of some sort of kitcen appliance, probably due to it's arch type shape. I also find it a little bit too similar to the PS2 (which has an awesome design). You know what I mean, a little stand area on the bottom, with the rest of the main unit on top of it.
