wow some of those parts looked amazing. The gun shot at the trees actually moved the branches and leaves, and the bullets in the water made splashes. Not sure if that has been done before, but it looked sick.
Not Impressed at all, KILLZONE 2 LOOKS MUCH BETTER
It's meant to be a MP engine, its completely different from KZ2 engine.
Cryengine is very good in natural outdoor enviornments, the best imo, while KZ2 engine is the best for urban areas.

That part where the leaves and water is shoot looks amazing.

That looks great. Hopefully more developers will use this over Unreal engine, and hopefully is a cheaper option for them.

It is a huge world with lots of stuff in them... Dont see how the **** killzones engine has anything to do with this, sure the desert map is big and all but it doesnt have trees and grass all other the place like this.

I think it looks awesome!

Who cares if a computer can do those effects, now MY 360 and PS3 can give me some awesome looking games using that engine and I don't need to pay to upgrade!

I am excited to see the 1st products rolling with this.

i agree

GG's engine is no were capable of doing what this engine is doing(vegetation, large scale world). the same could be said the other way around(atmosphere and lighten). if i had to pick one, ill definitely go with this engine. not calling anyone out but i wonder if this engine was exclusive to the ps3, would ppl still say that KZ2's engine is better?

Far Cry 2 did some stuff like that.

If it were exclusive then they could have used Cell and therefore handle a lot more data on screen at once such as lighting, physics etc

I can answer that, Nope. It would be the best thing ever!

I love it that this engine is being multiplat created. That means no one should get slighted on ports or anything since the resources and engine are both being designed from the ground up to run on both systems.

In many respects, I think this vid looks better than the KZ in many shots. I am not saying KZ doesn't look good, this is newer tech and should look a little better!

Good times coming :)

Some people have strange point of view about graphics:confused:
Not impressed by the CryEngine 3?What you expect people-Beowulf (the movie) type of graphics?

Looks really good, no point comparing it to KZ2's engine since what they both offer are completley different looking enviroments.

I am convinced that half of the posters in this thread are insane. Many parts look on par with, and some areas surpass Killzone 2. It doesn't look as good as CE2 on a high end PC, but it is extremely impressive, and I hope this overtakes UE3 as the multiplat engine of choice.

exactly my point, but because its a multiplatform engine, some ppl will put it down because if you admit it looks better than kz2's engine(which it obviously is), that means that the 360 is more than capable of handling kz2 visuals

Graphics are impressive but without the correct physics and everything attached then you might as well be looking at a Powerpoint presentation.

KZ's engine has life, wind, lighting and lots of other things going on screen at once.

The Jungle area at the end looks Insane, obviously if thats a multiplat demonstration then it will work on the 360. Only Issue with the 360 would be disc space if the Visuals are gonna be that good.

Personally i thought that it looked pretty good. At first in the city i didn't think it looked better than killzone but then when they showed the trees I was amazed.

Damn, that looks FIIIIIIINE and awesome.
For those who say that KZ2 looks much better: there is more than just graphics. See how much stuff with their own pretty realistic physics and how big areas those actually are.
Far more impressive.
Now that Crytek has bought Free Radical... I'm only expecting DELICIOUS GAME from them.
