Some reviews have been showing up:

Eurogamer gave the game a 9/10
Diablo 3 on console is one of the best co-op games money can buy. It swings smoothly from easygoing to intense, with perfectly paced pockets of downtime, and is capable of swallowing entire evenings in a single, voracious gulp. It's a Lego game for loot-hungry grown-ups and it gets better with every player you add. If you have co-op partners who would also enjoy it, this version is an essential purchase. If you don't, it's still easier to recommend than the PC game; almost as slick, even more flexible and usable and without that troublesome always online requirement.

Diablo 3 is a bold, bloody, opulent romp built around a ruthlessly simple distillation of action role-playing. It's perfectly comfortable in its new home on consoles, and so is Blizzard.

Good to hear they didn't fuck it up but i've invested too many hours into the PC version to start all over again.
I also can't understand how you're supposed to play with 4 players if everyone is "bound" to one screen (or does it have 4 player splitscreen?!).

The trophies are easy enough compared to the PC achivements.
For example "collect 5mil gold" compared to PCs "collect 100mil gold"

I want to purchase this game so bad, however, I'm currently playing plenty of games plus GTAV is right around the corner that I've decided to hold out on this until it comes out on the PS4. If it's as addicting as the review says it is, I'd rather invest my time on the PS4 version then waste my time on the PS3 one. (If your rank from PS3 will carry over to the PS4 version, then I'll probably pick this up then on PS3 sometime in October).

I'm excited, preordered my copy on the PSN store a few days ago. Already own the PC version but I'm such a huge Blizzard nerd that I don't mind picking it up again. Especially since it's something my girlfriend and I can play together on our couch.

As soon as I read that D3 was coming to consoles I wrote it off as a Do Not Purchase, as I can't see how using a controller with that type of game will avoid being an annoying and crap experience. Loved D1 and D2, but I just don't know how they could create an effective control scheme for a DS3.

I played one dungeon crawler type game on PS3 called Sacred which was atrocious, and completely turned me off to the idea. But if anyone knows how the controls will work for the PS3 version of D3, then I'd appreciate you sharing your knowledge.

It's a little... I dunno... just difficult to play at first. I guess learning it a little better will make it more fun. I'll try and get some footage tomorrow. There are some frame rate problems at times, and I think they excluded any AA lol.

Maybe I'll get some pc/console comparison footage up sometime tomorrow.

If there are enough people here getting it, that wanna play co-op, I'll get it for the PS3 as well. I am already getting it on the 360, but will gladly participate in hell with PS3 owners here. :snicker

It's not so bad once you get going in it. I have it pre-ordered on the PS3 so.... we'll have to get some kick ass gaming going this coming week.

Someone should check out my twitch, link in the sig. ;)

I'm liking it more and more lol. I hope if/when it comes to the PS4, my PS3 character will be able to migrate over.

I'm uploading some game play now, it'll be a little bit, but worth watching.

I was a Diablo fan back in the day....but D3 was kinda blah to me. I think I've run my course on that franchise.

I am interested in hearing how well it plays on a controller tho

Starting out on the controller was feeling a little awkward at first. After acclimating to the controller, it works really well.
It will have its shortcomings compared to being on the PC of course. I don't know if I'll be able to control a Critical Mass wizard with the controller lol. I'm surely going to try though. ;)

That's my concern too. Did you watch that video a post above yours?

There will be a PS4 version? Hmm. Might hold off for that.

Can one transfer the PC character to the console?

I've not heard anything about transferring pc characters, but i guarantee you won't be able to. The game doesn't use bnet accounts for anything. I don't know how you'd migrate character data.

If I get this at all it'll be for the next gen consoles. I'll wait for some next gen footage before making my decision.

Thank god.
I went to go try the Diablo 3 Starter, since its free and I was curious, and apparently I have a battle.net account.. but I dont remember making or know any of the information. Its such a clusterfuck and "jump through hoops" method for account recovery, its kind of just turned me off blizzard games. So Im happy at least the console versions wont have that garbage..

(I will never use my photo ID, my real last name, or my freaking phone number to play a freaking game)

I've been playing it for the past few days.. it's pretty good on consoles. I'm interested in seeing how the game progresses without the auction house.
