I stopped by the Sony Store (#54) after work, and they had 3 kiosks set up (well 2 were in front of a couch in the video game area, and 1 was on the other side of the store.) The guy in the store was saying that they were 1 of 3 Sony stores to have their setups complete today, with others setting up shop this week and weekend.

The demos (that I can remember) were Knack, FIFA, Octodad, Sound Shapes... and a few others.

Unfortunately, I didn't get many pics before my phone died. (I got into playing Knack) Which is a lot more difficult than it looks! It was basically the same 5 level demo we saw on Jimmy Fallon.

I was most impressed with the DS4 though. A major improvement over the DS3. I never had an issue with the DS3 but now, it feels inadequate lol. The DS4 feels very solid, and feels good in the hands (IMO). It has a nice weight to it, and the buttons feel very good when you press them. And the analog sticks feel awesome! The overall build quality easily exceeds that of the DS3.

The UI is very responsive and is multi-tiered in columns... and content was separated by level (PS4, PS3, Vita, PSN, etc. Although, that could have just been for demo mode.

The actual consoles were locked in a box under the TVs, and dummy PS4 cases sitting out on pedestals (chained down).

Ultimately what I managed to do is make my 29 day wait even harder. :D, but it was worth the trip which was on my way home anyway.

lol....nice. That candle shop may be getting an unexpected surge of confused customers!

Hey lady....where's your PS4?

Oh we don't have that, dear. Would you like to try my latest candle scent....I call it October Mist!
I wouldn't rely on that "find a kiosk" attempt lol.

Augusta, GA with 100 mile search:

You need to zoom out on the map to show the full area. It doesn't say how many it found in your area in text. You have to look what's within the radius. Note, you can drag your location around the map as well. But it does re-zoom back fully in again and you need to zoom back out to see if there was any found.
Even in major city areas there's only one or two within a hundred miles. I was hoping for one at least in my state's capital.
Yeah, even Manhattan comes up with none. Granted there is one about 40 miles outside of the city, Manhattan is the one city where you can typically find anything. And I mean anything!

Last I checked Manhattan was a Borough, not a City. And there is one in Queens, which is yet another Borough of NYC.

Just Sayin' ;-)

EDIT: Slight correction, it's 2mi outside of Queens.

I only found LA having more than one. And take a look at Texas, 4 of the top 11 Cities in terms of Population and we have one store with them.

Large East Coast Metro area's are missing them like nothing within 100mi of Boston.

That said, I'd bet by next week they'll be rolling out to major retailers all over.

I remember Nintendo set up 3DS kiosks right in Grand Central before it came out. T'was convenient for me.

Hopefully Sony does the same.

Thanks, but when you live in eastern Long Island, we consider Manhattan to be "the city".

Also, I must have missed the one in Queens, I just saw Garden City.

Yeah....the little white tag with an A on it is the center of the area you are looking at, not the location of a PS4. It will be blue with a ps logo on it, and will say in text at the bottom.

The Garden City one is the one I was referring to, which is actually 2mi outside of Queens like I said in my edit, initially I had just glanced and Thought, OK NYC has one in Queens, but after posting this, I decided to check and it's just outside of Queens. Just giving you a bit of Grief anyway, I thought it was strange to have one there and not in Manhattan as well.

But if you're on Long Island, then that would be closer to you anyway.

No grief taken, just surprised that Manhattan did not have one as well. Garden City is a good 40 miles from my home so it looks like I'm waiting until launch day.

Some guys First Person RPG of going to see the kiosk at Sony Stanford, kind of odd and amusing camera work. For some reason, he doesn't get up close to the screens. The Stanford Sony store is huge and so empty of people.

Actually LA only has 1 that's in Century City, the others are in Southern Cali.(Costa Mesa, and San Diego.).

So it seems like there's one per big city.(well for cali.)
