Hard Drive Help

Well this is my brother's situation. He has an external hard drive and the Ps3 is not reading the Hard drive when he plugs so he can transfers some movies to the Ps3. Do I need to install the Hard Drive to the Ps3 so it may recognize the Hard Drive. Does the Ps3 read NTFS or only Fat32?

needs to be FAT32, PS3 won't read NTFS,,,,,also if you don't see any files, try pressing triangle, then display all or something like that.

is there a way to convert the Hard drive to Fat32

Plug it into your computer. then go to My Computer. Next right click on the drive and select format. Then under file system choose FAT32 or which ever FAT is available. Then once it is done put your stuff on it and plug it into your ps3 and your good to go.

This problem is solved as the suggestion should work if not then the drive dont work with PS3
