Ok, brands don't matter so much, i've realized that so much its all basically the same with a different logo. LGs are cheaper, but Sonys are always nice. You want to get 1080p, i'd avoid 3D, just because its expensive and there isn't really much 3D content. It was hot for a while, but have you seen anything in 3D being released lately? nope. its out of style IMO so its just a waste of money. You want something that has a high framerate. You want a minimum of 120 hz. but the higher the better. It will eliminate motion blur. LCD won't get picture freeze and are generally brighter, but plasmas have darker blacks and more rich color. Personally, i like plasmas but you need to decide for yourself.

I have a Sharp Aquas 52" and I don't get any input lag. the only game so far that has input lag, low response time while playing is BF3 and that is the game not the TV. just go to the store and take a look at what HDTV you think looks good. ask them for the controller so you can adjust it, if they refuse to let you adjust the settings go someplace else.
