Help transferring data from 20GB --> 360s 250GB

I have just bought a 250GB 360S and I'm trying [and failing] to copy my profiles/game save data.

I have a cable that plugs into my old 20GB drive. When I plug this into the 360S it recognises a drive, but asks me to format it before it can be used.

I can plug this drive into my PC and using XPORT360, I can backup my data fine. It's just getting this data onto the 360S' drive that's proving difficult.

Does anybody have any idea what software or method I can use to get this sorted? I also have a 500GB USB HDD if that's any help.

I've just read that I have bought the wrong cable. Only the official Microsoft branded version works.

Ah well.

Let us know how you like your 360S once you get sorted. When I got mine I upgraded from a 60gig pro. Transferring the data was a snap and the process went very quickly.

You have to use the MS transfer kit, my friend had the same problem. You really don't need the transfer kit at all to be honest unless you have a ton of saves or files that are huge. I ended up using the mem card trasfer kit and I had no problems at all transfering my profile/saves grated I only had 2 saves to transfer over.
