Oh god, I can't remember that. Lets see, when I got internet connection to my computer, it was over 10 years ago (56k oh god THE NOISES). Before that I used to go to library a lot get to one popular finnish chat site (kiss.fi, oh the memories). I still can remember when I tried to find cheats for FFVII because I couldn't beat Demon Wall. I found Gameshark codes and I didnt know where to put those so I put those as Clouds name. Didn't work!
So could it be 15 years then?
I first got internet in 2004. It was on an old Celeron PC. Big fat monitor, no GPU, 512 megs of RAM, etc.
I had no idea what the internet was. I thought it was something for school. But then my mother was online one day and I saw an ad for video games. I got on the computer and used the Internet for the first time, I looked up cheat codes for Wind Waker. lol
A long time now, well over 10 years. As a guess I will say 95-96. My first modem was a 14.4K modem. It was mind numbingly slow.
I remember my PC had: Windows 3.1 and a 14.4K modem. It went for about $4200. I can't remember how much RAM it had, but I remember buying 8mb for about $120 and it was a BIG deal.
I remember those days. My dad bought a 'top of the range' 75Mhz, 8MB Ram and Windows 3.1 for about £1K back in 95. I remember being able to crank Duke Nukem up to SVGA 800x600! I felt like a GOD!
About 7 years for me, got AOL dial up when I was in year 7 and I was 12 then.
