The shows were Agriel's stuff. He hasn't been around in a while. Not sure what is what there. Maybe someone else knows. Right now, the channel is just being used for hosting game videos and trailers.

It is more of a matter of who has the time and expertise. I don't think we have anyone with an abundance of either.

I have both, but the main requirement is desire... which I don't have lol.

when there are hundreds of channels 10 folds better than the one PSU made, there's no reason to keep making it.

again, the only way i believe we could be unique is if we didn't just try to replicate others (which we did), instead be more community oriented. maybe talk about the design corner? why the fuck not? talk about what changes are coming or what's going on with PSU. there are tons of idea. instead we decided to do regular news...BORING.

EDIT: same with the podcast, i'm sure it's ok, but why should i listen to it when the people in it aren't personable? i don't know you, why should i care about your podcast? OH HEY, here's an idea! Why don't you promote your podcast in the game-related forums? hell, even post it in the off-topic, make an official thread and keep us coming back to it.

no, no one is going to a dedicated section just to see if there's anything new.

Now I have to vouch for the podcasts, both PS Unchained and RDGH and more than worth listening to because PS Unchained is very focus on the forum, they read the last weeks news direct from the main page and also read out the reviews that have been done on PSU themselves. And the RDGH podcast is always a good listen because it's not just playstation they talk about it's everything in the gaming world, plus they very kindly take the time to reply to tweets and emails on the air so I recommend to anyone give the podcasts a listen because these guys give their time to it and deserve as many fans as they can get!

that's my point, they may be good but this is the first time i have known what it's about. why can't we have an "unstickied" (as the sticky threads imo fail to get attention) official thread where some of these podcast members come in and promote it? and maybe write a few stuff like you just did. get what i'm saying?

PSU seriously needs someone with marketing sense because they just don't know how to get things off the ground. they may have talented people but that's not good enough.

Yes I do agree it needs more promotion and I try to help along with retweets etc but it would be nice if the guys on the podcast could be a little more present in the podcast thread! My counting bro Chille does pop in here sometimes to leave posts but not many of them get a reply!

Maybe put people can still clearly see this section so doesn't really explain the lack of content and replies......

Perhaps maybe this is a question I should put to the podcast guys and see what they think.........

the problem isn't if the section is visible or not, the problem is that most people do not click more than one section at any time. i know myself i will go without clicking on other sections for days...unless i find something on the main menu that peaks my interest. there are many times where i miss threads or news that is tucked under other sections and i would've read them if i had known they were there.

basically, the way this entire forum is laid out is that you have to firstly, guess, that something new is out (unless it's showing in the main menu and you actually look at it), secondly, you have to basically click on 10 different sections to even seen if anything new is there.

so many times when i absolutely have nothing else to look at or respond to, i will venture out in other relatively dead sections to see if anyone put anything new there. what a tedious exercise. really, they just don't get it. there are better ways to organize, this forum's layout is its own death.

if we had a way to look at all the new threads, it would make the forum a lot more lively. "what's new" doesn't cut it.

PSU lacks that personality awareness from the cotent team unfortunately. We have tried for years to enthuse the writing team to be more involved in the community but because they didn't come from it, they don't really care about it. That's harsh to say but the proof is in the actions...or inaction.

The idea of the writing section was to help develop interested community members into writers who would then start contributing to the main page. As they were first and foremost members of the community, there would be a lot more interest from this side to the news page. I know that such people would probably never write for the main page, but it would be so crazy and cool to see articles by personalities like Lethal, F34R, Omar and other long time members. The only way that content team will intergrate with the forums is by some mandate by Steven (which will never happen lol) or by nurturing, training and promoting the community to the front page team.

There is a lot of potential for this site...with PS4#s streaming ability and things like Playroom AR studio, we could really build up a cool culture here at PSU of being our own voice and building up a gaming community that games together. discusses together and shares together. It's still a dream I have and won't let it go...have just had stuff to take care of IRL.

To be honest, you're the best new member I've ever seen. From the start you've been a really good poster in the community and really, if you want to do some content stuff there is always a place for you. You've more than earned it for the aforementioned reason. :D

The more hands on deck we had on this, the further we could go. Once we switch forums I'll try and invest some time in rebooting the writing section. My intention was to put up some basic writing style tutorials so that we could build up a good foundation for members to voice their opinions with.

Interested in a writing section. I like to write or i like words; not everybody likes what i write... :snicker Tutorials would be interesting though, please point them out if they happen.

I want to say I have not been active enough recently on the forums like I used to be, and hopefully soon once the next few weeks are over, I will be alot more active and will be starting to promote both the Unchained and RDGH podcast more often. Thank you for your comments though :D

we need ONE section with PSU media stuff. and then we need a bunch of stickies in there. or they should not allow normal users to make any threads...this is...if we HAVE to have a section for them to begin with.

This is where I have to disagree with Omar. In no way am I trying to be disrespectful when I say this, but how hard is it to check the front page? www.psu.com Check it once a day, even at the same time each day, and you'll see all the new stuff. No offence but if someone in the forums is not listening to the podcasts it is because they chose not to listen to the podcast, not cause they can't find it. Or even go to the top of the site, "What's New?" --> Latest Podcasts After the site revamp it is SUPER!!! easy to find stuff on there now.

I also have to completely disagree with Ghost. The staff have cared for a long time, especially me. For 39 straight weeks I was interviewing people from the forums for a weekly series I used to do. No one cared. Everyone lost interest or they had no sweet clue the series even existed. I remember we tried to get people from the forums who were doing stuff in the forum game reviews section the opportunity to make it on staff...either no one cared or they dropped out after a week. I've had various kinds of contests in the forums that few if any cared about or talked about. I remember Chillie did a contest around Christmas giving away free stuff and hardly anyone posted...for free stuff.

The problem is not that the staff doesn't care. The problem is when the staff have made attempts to get the community involved there has been lax response at best. Harsh but true. The people who actually view/comment on the front page and those who comment in the forums are two different groups of people, two different demographics. I remember when I held the trophy competition in the forums last summer there might have been 5 people at most talking about it...with one a contestant from another site and myself included...so really 3 or so. Of those not directly involved as a contestant? ZERO comments. It was one of the highest viewed threads ever but no one except for those handful posted in the thread.

Sure, we could easily make a sub-forum and put all our stuff like podcasts and such into it. But people have to come and respond. People have to engage. Please keep this in mind. The site staff are not paid. We are all volunteers. When I review a game for the site I'm spending 10, 20, 30 hours of my free time and volunteering it to help the site. But there is only so much we as a staff can do. Our time is a limited resource. If we are not posting the podcasts in the forums, and it is a huge issue for the people in the forums, don't wait for us to take care of it. Make the "Podcast thread" ask the mod to sticky it, and someone from the forums volunteers to take of it.

Again, I'm not trying to be rude to anyone, but just putting this situation into context from my experiences.
