The grim tone that carried the trailer gives me hope.

Why? I haven't seen much Supes stuff, but the one reason why I never like Superman in anything I watch him in (I saw one of the old ones but don't remember which and then saw Superman Returns) is because I can never connect to the character. Supes Entertainment that I've seen seems to get too comfortable with presenting his Mr. Ideal qualities and does not do enough to explore the personal struggles that come with who he is; mainly in growing up as a Freak on Earth and being one man responsible for an entire planet due to his nearly-limitless abilities. There can be some great character study there, but I never seem to get much of it. I'm not exactly wanting something totally cerebral, but I do want more depth to a guy who just happens to be born with (mostly) unstoppable powers and ends up balancing a fairly well-balanced human life with a (mostly) unstoppable superhero role.

We'll see if Snyder can follow through with this trailer.

And behind the curtains, I wonder if Henry Cavill has signed on for Justice League when he signed for this movie.

Last one wasnt a remake. They said it took place after Superman 2 so it was a sequel. I guess you could call it a remake of Superman 3 though. This one is a reboot like Batman Begins was for Batman but i doubt it will be as good.

Didn't think I'd get interested in another superhero movie, let alone Superman's. This is a nice change of pace to Marvel's same-y superhero movies. Snyder handled Watchmen well, I look forward to seeing more.

Ya..the problem was it was way to similar to Superman 1 in so many aspects it was more of a spiritual reboot than a sequel.

But is this going to be the Superman we need but not the one we deserve?

Superman has been in desperate need of a good revamp for a very long time. Superman Returns was a giant, steaming pile of crap. Lex Luthor needs to stop being the main villain in every single freaking Superman movie. There are a LOT of villains in the Superman universe, so wtf? Doomsday anyone? Seriously... come on.

This movie looks a lot better than Superman Returns... but the villains are regurgitated. Faora is new, though (I think? lol). Meh.

Edit: I'm reading rumors that Doomsday (or Brainiac) may be a secret villain in the new film. o_O

Serious. Some of the stuff it did can't be translated onto a movie, but I still enjoyed the movie.
