Mass Effect DATED by Xbox.com... for Australia?

Yep, thats right, dated in Australia on the Xbox.com website!

The Australian Xbox.com web site has revealed the release date for Mass Effect in the Land Downunder. According the product's web page, Mass Effect will launch down there on May 18, 2007. We don't expect this title to arrive earlier on any territory before it hits North American retailers, so this Australian release date confirms that we can expect this UE3-powered action role-playing game before the four week of May.

May 18? Holy crap I wasn't expecting it that soon, I was thinking July or something... My girlfriend might not even see me for her B-day if it comes out on or before May 18. Damn, this has got me all sorts of excited!

What else can I say as I wasnt expecting this gem to be released this soon. Although what are the chances that date is wrong/or they will change it? I dont want to get my hopes up to have them shattered.

Yeah its hard to say... but its also Xbox.com. This isn't amazon we are talking about. I'm skeptical, but hopeful.

True that, true that man. Its this sort of stuff that gets me truly excited for a game. Not another FPS blah blah blah, but a game that has a whole new world, story, AND gameplay to it. This game is going to rock.

Oh crap! I hadn't factored a flight to Australia into the price of the game - which is damn well what will happen if this is released in Oz before Europe.

Well, should still be before Q4, they wouldn't have two AAA titles of that caliber fighting each other that close to Xmas (halo 3)

If the game doesn't make a Spring release, I don't think it will come out until Fall 2007. However, it will surely make the Christmas 2007 Xbox 360 offerings quite interesting. I think it'll be released at least a month or two before Halo 3 as I'm sure they don't want to the two games competing for the same sales. However, I'd rather it be released in Spring though, sooner better than later.
