I know I'm not the first person to think about this but wouldn't a Chao Garden app from Sega be perfect for the PS Vita, 3DS and mobile devices? They're cute creatures but it seems like they aren't featured prominently other than unlockables in larger games (trophies, stickers etc). You could even connect to your friend's Chao Garden when you're both online, similar to Animal Crossing.
