did they deliberately not show barack obama's pitch because he throws like a girl? whats with that crap? at least he's not a cubs fan
Figured they would show it just so people can make fun of it. But from what I've heard he actually made it to the plate.

I watched most of it. Can't stand seeing the AL win every year, though. Towards the end my buddies and I started playing the UFC game (the bar we were at had an xbox 360 w/ UFC that you could play. They also had a wii set up with the Bags game).

I just find it funny that the Pirates are just trading everybody. They had some pretty good talent that they traded away. If they would have kept them all I could see them playing .500+ baseball.

yeah the bread and butter of their team, it makes me laugh, their first WS in 86 years has a bit of stink on it.
What do you guys think about the White Sox getting Alex Rios off waivers?
Not a bad pick up by the White Sox. He seems to be just having an off year this year.

Eh, this thread pretty much died, but the wild card is starting to pick up in both league. It looks like that the Red Sox will be making it to the playoffs unless they collapse. (Mets 07, 08) I am pulling for the Giants to win the Wild Card.

I find it funny that a Yankee fan of all would be taking about another team using steroids.
A yankee fan of all? Wow, your making it seem like the whole team was on juice.

Edit: On the steroid note. People need to move on. It was past, and nothing is ever going to change. Players back then needed a edge, and didn't want there job being replaced so they switched to steroids. I think the offence in testing positive on performance enhancing drugs is a tad bit light. I honestly think the first offence should be one year with no pay, and then lifetime ban. Even thought there are still drugs that aren't shown in the test.

Location: Dallas ;)

They have a good club, but it's going to be hard to beat the Red Sox out of first place unless something happens.

I just want to see my Tigers redeem themselves from the 06 World Series collapse. Wouldn't mind getting some revenge against the St. Louis Cardinals either.
I've watched some MLB on ESPN recently but can't really get into it. Is MLB more popular than the NFL or is it on a par.
Right now the NFL is more popular.

It wasn't to long ago when MLB was the most popular sport back in 1998. Ever since then not so much.

My Dodgers got 2 of 3 from Colorado, they are looking decent for the playoffs but I wish they would have pulled the trigger on a bigger deadline trade (Lee or Halladay) to strengthen their rotation. Word is that Rich Harden got claimed off of waivers by an NL team...I can only hope.

Mets for Sale?

CHICAGO (Reuters) - The owners of the New York Mets will be forced to sell the pro baseball team due to huge losses suffered in the Bernard Madoff swindle, the author of a book about the disgraced money manager said on Friday.
The Wilpon family, led by Mets owner Fred Wilpon, lost about $700 million because of Madoff, according to Erin Arvedlund, author of "Too Good to Be True," published earlier this month.

TBH, I think the Mets are in need of new ownership. Omar Minaya needs to go. He's acts this season have been horrible. He only signed Beltran because the Yankees got Gary Sheffield. I hope the new owners would actually know what there doing.
^Exactly. He'll have 3k in a couple of years if he's injury free. He might have a chance to get to 4k.
How long do you think he's going to play for? I can't see him playing for that much longer.

Why does all these kinds of records have to be broken against my O's?

He is only 35. I think it's possible for him to play until 40 maybe till 42. Posada & Matsui will be retired by then. So I can see him taking the DH spot. A interesting fact comparing Pete Rose and Derek Jeter at the age of 35. Jeter has 80 more hits than Rose does.
