Well i just wanted to post my own review on this since i've been at this game for like 3 days now . And its not a glowing review by the way , well mostly not .

Well , this game pi$$e$ me off most of the time .

THE BAD :

1) AI as dumb as a rock , players make no forward runs , standing there waiting for the ball (highly frustrating) . Players also don't come to fetch the ball when passed to them , they just stand there rooted to the spot waiting for the ball to roll to them , in which time the opposition AI closes down the pass and nabs the ball infront of your player (pi$$e$ me off so much) .

2) Opposition AI always wins challenges , makes 1 foul per game (if you're lucky) .

3) Good players miss close up shots or shoot straight at goalkeeper whereas crappy opposition AI players score long range drives (yes i even had a defender score a 20 yard strike against me) WTF ??!!

THE GOOD :

1) Manager Mode is kinda fun , not too bad , would still prefer Football Manager 2007 but EA is making good progress in this department .

2) Slick menu interface including actual player photos in their profiles and the whole intergration with ESPN LIVE sports coverage .

3) Graphics are awesome and well done for a next gen football game . Could've done a better job with some player likeness .

Overall its highly frustrating to play because of the inconsistancies of the game (Opposition AI and poor shooting mechanics) .
Its also frustrating knowing that EA came close to delivering a top-class football game but fell short on the most important part of it all , the gameplay .
I so badly want to get Pro Evolution Soccer 6 now (despite the crap-tastic graphics) . I just want a more rounded consistent gaming experience and the Pro Evo series is king in that department .

Here's to hoping EA beef up the gameplay mechanics in Fifa 2008 .

Comments on your Fifa 2007 experience is welcomed :D

Yes, EAs sports titles are a bit of a mixed bag.
They have some sharp goods and some sharp bads.
I've only played FIFA 2006 demo, and it was horrible.
I'm also having trouble figuring out how to master putting on tiger woods 07 (its ****ing hard!)

After playing the FIFA 07 demo I had one thought in my mind which is... For a base for the next 3 games.. Its very good.

The thing about pro evo is they haven't really changed over the last 3 or 4 years, whereas this shows some progression.

Pro Evo needs to work on their graphics for PES7, then they can lay back and relax. Playing a PS2 graphical game is extremely stupid, when EA of all people can put out something which is literally almost beautiful.

Its more than just graphics... gameplay is the most important thing about games, especially sport games. And Pro Evo rules supreme here.

But they already have the gameplay!

They don't change the gameplay very much year on year. PES6 and PES3 are SO similar in gameplay ways. They might aswell spend one year sorting the graphics out.

EA changes more year on year than PES does in 2 years. FIFA isn't a better game but atleast they seem to be trying.

If Konami nail the graphics and the licenses at some point, it will be game over for FIFA.

Seriously, go back and dig out your PES3 copy and play it. Then try saying the same thing. The game has been different year on year. The PS2 version of PES6 is very similar to PES5 on the PS2. However, the 360 version is totally different from the 2 of them. The graphics don't look bad either. If you are playing in HD they actually look pretty good. I saw this game on a SDTV and it looks just like the PS2 version for some reason. Its like they didn't account for scaling when they made the game.

BTW, EA have always produced better graphics in Fifa than in PES. Its the gameplay that counts, and in that sense, PES is almost untouchable right now. The FIFA 07 demo was pants IMO, and if thats their base for the next 4 years then I will LOL. Graphically (and in animations) it is very good, but if the gameplay is pants, how can you enjoy playing it?

Ahh the only thing agreed about on this forum. EA sucks.

I don't enjoy FIFA. I haven't since 2003. I just downloaded it, and its graphically pretty good, but the gameplay lacks serious depth.

FIFA 07 for the PS2 was deeper... and that wasn't deep either.

I was playing PES3 on the PS2 recently, Can't remember why but I think it was a remniscent stage of my year, its hardly changed 'HUGELY'.

I just personally think that if you want to eliminate EA, which most of the world seems to want to, the best way to do it would be to make the game visually pleasing, or atleast look next-gen.

The gameplay is superb, otherwise the game would suck, but it needs to upgrade its graphics before we're playing something which looks like this for PES15!

It really isn't always about 'Its better so who cares?', the more its better the better, if they could keep up with the gameplay and make the graphics better it would be hugely more immersive, atleast IMO

I'm not asking for it to be as good as FIFA's graphics, but a little bit of 'Next-Gen love' would be nice... Mainly, some better grass textures would work wonders...

My fifa review 7/10

Gameplay
Hardcore fans won't jump in right away, but with replayability you'll will get to appreciate the new engine. Scoring is difficult at times escpecially if u r not using a Striker or a highly skill player. The free ball movements as it ups and down.

Graphics
The players is always perspiring and always dirty even when just approaching the field. On the flip side atmosphere is beautiful, amazing stadiums.

Sound
Sounds amazing in Pro Logic 2, nails crowd response get u excited at times.
Good soundtrack.

Overall
Manager mode is fun going on my third season now switching team from Real Madrid to Manchester United. Keeping me occupied until PES 7.

I still enjoy FIFA 07...I am not a big soccer fan and rarely play games but my friend convinced me to buy it and we have little tournaments of it and stuff. yes the AI's are pretty retarded and it gets really frustrating as they are no help...

All you need to do is choose France and score all of you goals with the might Henry :p
