I might be stretching with the 30 days Data but I know the minimum purchase is a month's worth. The Amazon link does not specifically say that though.

Seems like someone at Sony has seen how much crap the 3G version is and they want to make at least a sale :snicker
Still, this looks like a serious deal. I'd be all over it if it shipped internationally. A WiFi Vita+4GB memory card here is $500 at launch. Mother fuckers.

Now that's incentive to upgrade to 3G, personally the Wifi model is good enough for me, but if over here they had Vita alone for $250, or $300 for this, I'd probably go with this, the extras alone make it worth it.

If it came with a 1 week early release I would buy it. So right now I am sticking with the first edition bundle.

With only 27 days until the launch of PlayStation Vita, we are excited to announce two PS Vita 3G/WiFi bundles. If you were one of the lucky consumers to pre order the PS Vita First Edition Bundle, in addition to the PS Vita 3G/Wi-Fi hardware, a limited edition case, a 4GB PS Vita Memory Card and Little Deviants game, we will now be including an AT&T DataConnect Pass good for one free 250MB session, and a PlayStation Network game – both provided upon 3G activation. And the best part, you still get it a week before the official launch date.

We are happy to announce today that we will be creating an extremely limited edition PlayStation Vita 3G/Wi-Fi bundle designed to reward those who brave the cold to stand in line on February 22nd (or even those who come in the few days that follow). In addition to the PS Vita hardware, we will be including an 8GB PS Vita Memory Card, an AT&T DataConnect Pass and a PlayStation Network game all for the usual MSRP of $299. This SKU is part of a promotional offer and will sell out immediately so we strongly recommend that you purchase your PS Vita early to make sure you get the extra value!
While the system is a fantastic option, the addition of 3G-network access is perfect for the gamer that wants convenience, community and connection – basically the ability to immediately socialize with your gaming community. 3G also allows you to engage in multi-player gaming, utilize GPS location-based digital gifting, stay up to date with continuous LiveArea scores and game ranking news feeds, compete for in-game achievements, engage in PS Vita to PS3 cross-platform game play, cross-game message with Party, and have access to software updates, all while on the go. You’ll also be able to login to the PS Store and download new content and add-ons for some of your favorite titles.
There are lots of exciting updates still to come as we get closer to launch, and we will be sure to keep you posted. Our goal here at PlayStation is to transform every aspect of life into an entertainment experience. We know when you get your hands on Vita you may really never stop playing!
This isn't helping the entry level price, which is the main issue with Vita currently.
The Vita is actually $50 cheaper than I anticipated when it was first introduced. I expected $300 for the cheapest model.

It in fact is the exact same price as the PSP debuted at, back in 2005.

People clamored for a pack in memory card. Now the (US) buyer gets an 8 gigger, a game and a bit of free data time. All for the same price as the bare unit. So your $300 now gets you a Vita you can play as soon as you buy a game, compared to the pre bundle cost of $330 to get the system game ready.

Of course if you wanted a price drop, well, Sony has a history of being hardheaded about that.

I heard in order to get the free psn game, you need to subscribe to ATT's 3g plan, at least for a month. Is this true?
Yes, but with this deal, you'll get a voucher for that first month free...
..So, basically

PSV 3G=$300
UGA:50
ATT:15
Total:365

PSV wifi:250
PSV 8GB Card:30
UGA:50

total 330

Yeah, still not worth it I can buy the free psn game and still save money lol.

Hopefully they throw in a 4gb for the wifi, They should, 80 percent of people who are buying a vita are getting wifi. No need to punish us!

Nope, $35 dollars is not worth it. Thats one more game! I got gps on my phone.

Plus, this is only catering to the 3g crowd. The majority of people are buying wifi.

If sony doesn't like it, then why put out two skus!

They are in a competitive market, so start effing competing! PSV Wifi, 4GB Let DOOOOO THISSSs.

And how much is the 8gb card that you getting for free, isnt it around 39$ by itself??Buying anything lower than 8gb you will end up to spend more money later to get a new card for sure. With this deal i actually don't understand who will spend money for the regular wifi. With what they offering to the lucky Us guys, even if you aren't interested about the 30 days 3G that is free and the free game. You just paying 30$ less to get the better version or 20$ more depend how you see it lol.I really don't see how this not worth it.I wish we had this deal here too.For similar things i need to pay 400 euro!!Give europe this deal and lets see how much the wifi will sell lol

There now its alot better since you forgotten to add the 8b card you will get for free too.It kinda seems like its worth it now :)

IMO this is totally worth it. Just the memory card and the PSN game are totally making up for it. Plus, you get to see what the whole 3G is about.

But who will pay 330$ to get the regular WiFi and not 300$ to get the 3g/GPS version with the 3g 30 days bonus too.Its just doesn't seem a logical thing to do...

It doesn't matter. There's still a competing system that's going for $170. It's a direct comparison in the eyes of the common consumer. I get that there's more value, but as I said that doesn't do anything to help the entry level price.
People clamored for a pack in memory card. Now the (US) buyer gets an 8 gigger, a game and a bit of free data time. All for the same price as the bare unit. There's no need to try and justify the *value* to me. A lot don't care about 3G, the only purpose to it currently is social media. Can't play games over it, can't download anything greater than a hacked down mini either. All you could do is web browse, message, and sync trophies. Anyone who can afford a $300 hand held will already have a phone that can accomplish 2/3 of that.

This bundle addresses consumer outcry that enough isn't being given to justify the price. What it is not doing is answering consumer concerns that the entry price is too high.

I respectable entry level price when the competition is getting not only more games, but better games, and costs almost $100 less.
