Sorry hear that.

Mine died last year.:(

My kids got me a slim for Christmas (didn't have the money to fix 60gig yet). So now I'm having trouble with it and it's only 6 days old. Called Sony, they said it was a HDD issue. Going to take it back to BB for exchange. Going to get the 250 just incase there's something wrong with that batch of 120 HDD's.

Sony wins either way, repair or new slim, they get our money.

Best of luck to you.;)
Get a slim. Best thing I did.
yup I'm gonna try, need to raise the funds, I'm a standard broke student lol, can't believe it happened to me, first time I switch on the console in 3 days, i see I've lost ranks in COD, down to 3900ish in score, I thought oh well, always gonna happen and then it just crashed on me 3 times and I saw it, yellow.

@papaw, I know! it really sucks terribly, I got like 10 games I can sell but it will only get me like £110, and I really can't be bothered going through the hassle of selling them, I seriously need to try get a part time job, or attempt to fix it.

What a way to start the year that freaking sucks! You aren't the only one though, I went through 2 PS3's before I had enough with the "repair job" from Sony and bought a Slim. It was the best choice I made that little machine is badass. I suggest a part time job and considering you are a student most companies should be able to work around your schedule so you aren't always working or always in school but I don't know how they do it in the UK im speaking from an American perspective.
