Nintendo is still performing well in America though I think it'll be more interesting to hear about the numbers for November and December.

According to the NPD Group, which tracks U.S. video game sales, the Nintendo Switch system was the No. 1 video game hardware in October, followed by the Super Nintendo Entertainment System: Super NES Classic Edition system in the No. 2 spot. When combined with the Nintendo 3DS family of systems, Nintendo systems accounted for two-thirds of all video game hardware sold in the United States for the second month in a row. The U.S. video game industry achieved hardware sales of more than 1 million total units in October for the first time since 2011.

The Super Mario Odyssey game for Nintendo Switch emerged as the top-selling video game of the month on the NPD sales chart, even though it launched at the end of the month on Oct. 27. The Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild games for Nintendo Switch finished as the No. 10 and No. 11 individual games for the month, respectively.

Switch has been a great turnaround from the woeful performance of the Wii U.

Switch is a monster. Nintendo confirmed it surpassed the Wii as the fastest-selling video game system in the U.S.

I'm glad Nintendo has a successful home console again. For a bit I was fearing they were going to only have a presence on the mobile/handheld front.

I really hope the rumor of the 4K Switch with 8gb of ram is coming out next year. Would be great to see a Nintendo console with some sort of actual gpu power.

Over 20m sold now. Will easily pass the Gamecube and N64. Very impressive.
Switch sales have surpassed the GameCube now. I think another 10 million is needed for it to surpass the N64, but you would be right, there are no signs of it slowing down.

I hope so as well. There have been rumors of Nintendo in the process of making a 3DS successor... I hope that isn't true, because I feel it destroys everything the Switch accomplished. They need to keep their markets combined with the Switch, not seperate them again. If I had to choose, I would prefer them to go all in on a new home console rather than creating another 3DS...

IGN reported that it hit 32m back in January so it sold around 10m during the holidays. It's passed the N64 now and did it within 2 years. Glad to see Nintendo bouncing back.

34.74 million units worldwide, as of March 31st.

Nintendo is forecasting another 18 million units to be sold between now and March 2020.

As for software, 187.52 million Switch games have been sold worldwide.

Oh, and Nintendo (through a partnership with Tencent) will be releasing the Switch in China at some point in the future.
