Yeah the forums are being spammed upon a lot more since the change.. Our lord and savior @Christopher knows though :D
The forums were being spammed like there was some sort of spam apocalypse before the upgrade and it seemed to carry over. I'm sure this software has better spam fighting options than what we had before, so I'm sure we'll figure it out. Having said that, it takes me like 2 seconds to delete a spam bot, ban their IP, and delete all their posts and threads with like two clicks. I just banned about 4 spam bots and like 8 threads and I think I only blinked once. It would have been a chore before.

Like the bots don't even bother me at the moment because I'm just like ... lolololdelete.

I think everything is looking great. Works smoothly and there's none of those random advertisements that used to show up from the posts. For something modern, definitely a nice way to revamp things.

Someone needs to seriously fix this and put PSU something up there. It's annoying me to no end.
There is a lot to learn about Xenforo. Take your meds and be patient. :p

There seems to be issues with my permissions. My posts aren't showing except the one in this thread.
Adjusted your permissions. Try again.

ACP > Appearance > Styles > Style Properties > Basic Options

you'll see the path for the logo. Just upload the new image there and put the proper code for it.

Obviously not the right graphic color, etc., but there it is.

You guys didn't lose the official PSU logo, did you? I know it was still there after the forum migration.

Yeah, I know where it is....the problem has been the inheritance of values from parent templates. Finally figured that out.....I think. Thanks tho.

Please can you bring back the ability for us to edit our posts! I'm Mr Typo man and it's going to be a pain otherwise.

Cheers!

Specifically in certain sections like Forum Games, Sports, and Entertainment where it doesn't show up.

I know you can edit posts here as well as the gaming-related sections but not yet everywhere.

When I finally get my time back from real life work (been working 60 hour weeks for over a month now) then I'll be adding plugins to fight the spam bots, adding in social media logins such as Google+, Facebook, Twitter, and Steam. Then there's plenty of other niceties to come along too. A few style touches to change too including the avatar size as it's way too small.

I should be back to normal in about 16 days time, then I'll be back properly to work on the forums and get it up to snuff.

I'm sorry to hear about your crazy work hours. But at least the biggest part of the forums is over with. Now it's just about tweaks and plugins and such.

That's good to hear. Because these spambots are getting very annoying. But I'll keep reporting all of them until the plugins to fight these spambots are installed.

Deleting them is even more annoying, but at least the deletion process is way easier. Still ... can't wait for the incessant spam to stop.

I just purged a bunch of banned spam bots and a bunch of spammy IPs. I'm going the be blocking IPs from now on manually as it appears the default banning option only bans usernames. I saw like 5-6 spam bots sharing the same IP address, so the default banning option was actually doing nothing to stop the spam. So as time goes on there will be a LOT less spam happening. Dunno what the status is on the anti-spam feature being implemented.

Good job man. And yeah ban the username, e-mail, IP address etc. too. That's what I would do if I was a super moderator/admin here :)

You probably don't even really need to report spam, unless regular community member traffic picks up, because it's easier to see now with the new forum layout.

And I do wish regular community member traffic would pick up. There aren't many people posting new threads, let alone replying. I don't know how much of it has to do with busy schedules, social media, or maybe they're waiting on Tapatalk to work... but I'm starting to think most people have simply given up on PSU (and I don't want to think that).

I know we rarely retain new members so I think we could look into a possible solution there.

Threads don't need to be reported because that's obvious, but individual posts inside legitimate threads is helpful.

As for forum members, I think they're still planning on implementing social media features and whatnot. No idea what's going on there, though. This place is more active than it was, but it's definitely not significant or anything. Kind of wish I knew what was going on in the pipeline.

Alright I guess I'll then stop doing it :D

I noticed if you highlight part of a post with the mouse that a reply pop-up button appears which upon clicking moves the highlighted content (along with the quoted post bbcode and user post number) to the quick reply box. Very cool.

Didn't even realize that. That is definitely cool.

Yep. Someone said they didn't like the look of the new forums but I think a lot of these new features are worth it to continue posting. Even if you just want to post a quick reply, it's much easier and automatic than before.
