Yeah, the miniseries was underwhelming.

I'll just stick to watching the original series and catching up on my reading of the ongoing Seasons 10 and 11 comic by Joe Harris instead where a grown-up Gibson Praise is the new antagonist.

So after finishing this short season, I honestly wasn't all that impressed.

I enjoyed the show during the original airing back in the day but this reboot was mediocre. Some of the episodes played out more like a Law & Order episode than a classic X-Files show...people conveniently having answers/theories right away, characters seemingly having nothing better to do than be fixated on what Mulder and Scully were up to, etc...

The first and last episodes of this short season were probably the best in the bunch. It was also nice to see Lauren Ambrose again who was on Six Feet Under, a great HBO show from years ago.

If they bring back the X-Files for another season, I really hope they increase the quality of the writing. This short season felt very rushed in almost every episode. I want them to bring back deeper Mulder and Scully stories plus more crazy supernatural encounters.

Overall I'd give this short season a 7 out of 10 at best.
