So, are people contemplating their builds? I haven't decided whether to go for a dumb lovable brute, or a highly capable douche-brute.
In (figuratively) every Fallout game in existence I've always gone for the sneaking sniper type.

Yea, people are scraping everything Fallout 4 related in hopes to figure out all the perks and have their character built out. Personally I find it a lot more fun to figure stuff out by just playing the game. As much time as you put into building your first character, you don't know what the game mechanics are like and what perks are most important. Not to mention with unlimited levels you can get your character to full SPECIAL and all perks.
As for mods, I don't think we'll see them paid. I believe during E3 they said mods would be free on both PC and consoles. I don't see them going about charging for them after that, especially since many gamers are still on edge after their previous attempt to charge for them.

Those PC discs should come with an asterik noting that they are worthless without an internet connection. It'll be interesting to see how well their strategy works and if it actually does a decent job at delaying piracy.

Thqt stuff is usually on the back. Do many people still buy PC games on disc thesedays? They must be the minority.
I thought it mighr be day one aDlc extras or something at first.

I don't know if it's already backwards compatible with Xbox One or there's going to be an update for it around launch, but Xbox One comes with Fallout 3. It seems to be Microsoft's strategy, I believe they're doing the same with the newest Rainbow Six game (comes with the previous two Rainbow Six Vegas games).

I think I'd rather go with a pre-order at a physical store so you can get it at midnight. The PS Store mentions digital copies unlock at midnight Eastern time, so it looks like I might be able to play it at 11PM if that's correct.

I would think they are, I seem to recall them doing it with other big games... and Fallout 4 is one of the biggest. I'm just glad I don't have to deal with the GameStop midnight release stuff. I hate having to go up there twice (once at 9 or 10 to get my spot in line and then again at 12 to pick the game up) or waiting forever past midnight to get the game.
