This will be the game that makes Polyphony Digital (Gran Turismo) sit up and take notice, it could knock any racing title we've seen on console out the park.

The sounds, physics, gameplay, AI night racing and weather I think will all be far superior I for one can not wait.

I've been playing the game for over 2 years now and this game has single handedly put me off Gran Turismo, it's the sole reason I did not purchase Gran Turismo 6 and when that released Project Cars was only about 7 months into production which just shows you what I think of Project Cars.

Just to keep things in perspective though, Project Cars can be played on a controller however I do not recommend it unless you have no choice, this game is heavily geared towards a wheel + pedal setup because it is a full-on racing simulator and not a simcade like Gran Turismo is. I'm sure a lot of people might give me flak saying that "what are you on about? Gran Turismo is nothing like an arcade game, it's a proper simulator!", well for consoles maybe but if you have played games like iRacing, GTR, rFactor, and also Project Cars, it is scary how accurate these cars drive to their counterparts (of the ones I have driven in real life that is).

Prepare for an amazing game guys. :)

I played GT from one to five and a lot of GT5 was with a wheel. Then I got into the PC sim's and they blew my mind, I could hardly complete a lap on iRacing without spinning or heading off onto the grass and that was just at Lime Rock lol. Now im taking part in events like the 2.4hr of spa.

There are a lot of options now for racing games Forza, GT, Assetto Corsa, rfactor, iRacing, the Raceroom titles and simbin titles but I firmly believe that PCARS will be the game that ticks all the boxes for me.

There isnt a game out there that provides simulation physics with great graphics, dynamic weather, great track and car selection and isnt subscription based and is easily available to everyone on all the big platforms.
People always say that but pd always delivers at the end of the day, can't wait to see there first outing on the ps4.
PD hasn't delivered since GT3 to be honest. The only thing that has been added since GT3 is very light aesthetic damage and an online mode - the latter being basic at most. They need to really improve with GT7 considerably as that franchise has gone stale to me. If they want to keep their motto "The Real Driving Simulator" then they need to make it so. GT1-3 were some of the greatest racing experiences I have ever had in gaming, GT4 just mesmerised me with sheer volume and the last great GT game. It's time PD took a look at real simulators and started incorporating some features to bring the series into the new decade.

Project Cars is already my second favourite racing game of all time (behind Geoff Crammond's Grand Prix 4), it's that amazing and every weekly release it just gets better (they're working heavily on the physics, online, and main menu GUI at present).

Merged it with the official thread. I haven't played it in a couple of months now and there's been several updates since so I ought to head back into it again sometime.

Monaco looks spectacular on the PC and it looks like they've added even more to it than when I last played it! The current build is 916 so it looks like it's in its final stages before launch now. After looking at that video I'm hoping that they've sorted out the gamepad controls for the PC now.

I've just tried out Monaco with 35 F1 (Formula A) cars on track with a gamepad and oooooooh my goodness, this is the first time I have been able to control an F1 car ever! They have really improved things massively, especially with the gamepad as before it was completely unplayable with it.

http://www.psu.com/news/25782/Proje...be-believed---is-this-PS4s-best-looking-racer

It looks as if developer Slight Mad Studios' decision to postpone the release of its premier racing simulator Project CARS has paid dividends - that is, if its latest video showcasing the fastidious racer's new weather effects are anything to go by.

Taking place at the iconic Laguna Seca, the video painstakingly details a behind-the-wheel view of a weather-beaten race, complete with sharp turns and some truly incredible rain effects. The pelt of persistent water certainly gives a more manic and hurried feel to proceedings and that's most definitely a good thing. It'll be a piece of work to handle the car in such conditions, though, we imagine.

The unflinching realism at hand will be music to the ears of petrol heads, undoubtedly, as the Bandai Namco-published racer edges ever closer to its release.

Nothing against project cars but I think them rain effects on the body work and visor are pretty pants to be honest. Guess being spoiled with Driveclub water physics is the reasoning for why I didn't really see anything special there. The colour/wet floor gloss and clouding looks great but thought there would be more directional movement when going round bends and for how much rain there is doesn't and spray from the car in front doesn't reflect on the users view.

This seems to be the reaction of most people who have had the pleasure of playing Driveclub, the wet weather effects from that will take a lot of beating but still doesn't take any of the excitement away from the prospect of this game I think!

Definitely mate, it still looks a fantastic game and I'll be picking it up day 1, was purely just commenting on the weather in the video.
I think what's not helped me is having around 3 hours at trying to beat the venom hot lap 2 in DriveClub last night which has heavy precipitation

Did you manage it in the end then?

It is going to be nice to have a proper track racer again, and on the plus side it looks like you can have up to 34 cars on track at once which to me is awesome especially when it comes to taking part in the Le Mans 24 Hours!

Yeah thankfully, by. 002!!
Awesome, be interesting to see how they manage that online and trying to prevent/penalise purposefully collisions.
