I tried the Forspoken demo during the weekend and it was not bad, but it was not amazing either. What I got to play felt good enough that I would like to play it at some point. I don't think I'm willing to pay full price for it though, but if it comes down to $30-$40 I could see myself getting it.

I've finished The Callisto Protocol now. And it's definitely not as good as I hoped it would be. Unfortunately some aspects of the game really drags it down as a whole. Such as the janky and clunky combat and movement and a terrible save system. The combat got less annoying when I got used to it, but that doesn't really change the fact that it was quite bad. The main characters movement felt like moving through water or like he was carrying around a safe or something, really slow. The good things about the game is the visuals, sound design and overall atmosphere of the game. The story was serviceable, not much more. The characters were ok. The dualsense implementation was really good. I feel like I'm generous if I give it a 6/10, but I think it's a 5-6/10 for me. You don't have to take my word for it, but if you ever concider playing this I would recommend waiting for a sale or if it shows up on PS Plus or Game Pass. I payed $53 (incl. tax) for it and I think that's a bit too much.

Well, now I'm going to play Biomutant, since it was included in PS Plus this month. I hope it's good.
Yeah, for some reason I'm not excited about Forspoken and after reading some people's thoughts on the demo, I think I'm going to pass. That's a bummer about Callisto Protocol. I know the DF team liked the PS5 version, but the Xbox and PC versions had a lot of technical issues.

I have Biomutant. I started it on PS4, but got sidetracked and never finished it. It's ok. I had high expectations, but the combat / movement feels a bit janky. Perhaps playing on PS5 would be better, upgraded visuals and framerates. I actually got the big box collector's edition with the statue and everything.

I still need to finish God of War Raganarok. Been playing way to much TFT lately. Also, my buddy wants me to get Anno 1800, as he said it's a pretty decent city builder game that is multiplayer. He bought Victoria 3 as well, but said it comes with a steep learning curve, similar to Crusader Kings 3. Something like a 50-60hr investment just to learn the ropes.

It has a performance mode on PS5, which I'm playing the game in, it feels quite smooth. I've changed a couple of things in the options that made it feel much better than the original settings. I've turned off Smoothing and I've turned the sensitivity up a bit. With these changes I think it feels quite good and snappy.

Just clocked another 7-8hrs in God of War Ragnarok. Took me all night yesterday to complete most of the favors / sidequests in northern Vanaheim. Geting closer to beating the game. Hoping to get the platinum trophy by the end of it.

I finished Biomutant yesterday and it was a quite fun experience, imo. It's no masterpiece, but I definitely had fun with it and enjoyed my playthrough.

So, next I'm going to play Blacktail.

I finished Blacktail earlier this week and overall it was better than expected. It was a quite polished indie title, imo. It's a story and character driven action adventure, with an interesting story, fun characters, nice art style and overall nice atmosphere. The gameplay loop and combat was fun, even if it (the combat) was on the simple side, once I got used to the controls. I think it would land around a 8/10 if would give it a score.

I haven't really started playing anything new yet. I downloaded Hot Wheels Unleashed (that was included with PS Plus) and tried that a little bit and I might play it some more. Right now I kind of feel a bit restless because I'm very close to start building my new PC, I'm getting the last few components tomorrow. Hopefully I haven't forgotten to order anything important and the the actual building of the PC goes well.

I've finally put together my new PC. I've only tried a few games so far, Fallout 4, Prey and Grim Dawn. All run great with the highest settings @ 1440p. I know none of these are exactly new, but it's a big step up from my old PC.

I think I'm going to focus on Grim Dawn and try to finish it this time. I've started playing it 3 times before without getting all the way through.

Still playing Grim Dawn. I've gotten quite a bit further into the game than I had in the previous times I started playing it. I only have the base game, but there is a story DLC for it that I want, but I'm waiting to get until it shows up in a sale. I might play around with some other games too, to test the performance of my new PC.

I still haven't played Prey (by Arkane Studios). I played the other one on Xbox 360, but haven't had a chance to check out the newer one. Looks way better.

I've never heard of Grim Dawn. I'll have to check that out.

This weekend, I'm looking for a sports game. Since Madden seems to suck everyone year (this last year's version in particular), my buddy and I are looking for a new sports game we can play together and do a franchise with. Thinking of getting NBA2k3 or maybe an NHL game. Any suggestions? I'm hoping 2K Games will announce and show off their own NFL game soon. EA needs competition, otherwise Madden will continue to suck.

I've never finished Pray, I've only started playing it a few times, but what I have played have been good.

Grim Dawn is a Diablo style game, but not as big and I'm guessing with a way smaller budget. It's a solid game though, imo. I like it.

I've downloaded a demo of a game called Wigmund too, that I'm going to try this weekend.

And I've also downloaded The Callisto Protocol just to see how well it runs on my PC, I don't intend to play it since I've already finished it on PS5 and was a bit disappointed with it, I just wanna see how it runs. I think it's the most demanding game I have at the moment. It was included with the GPU together with Dead Island 2, that I'm looking forward to play when it releases.

About the sports games, I'm not a big sports game fan in general, but I used to play NHL way back. So if I was going to play one sports game today, it would probably be NHL. Or some kind of arcadey racing game, since I'm not a big fan of simulator/realistic racing games. Or something like Blood Bowl (there are 2 of them out now, the third one is releasing later this month), which is a fantasy football game.

I played the Wigmund demo a little bit yesterday and I don't think it's going to be a game that I will get the full version of. The controls with mouse and keyboard ruined it for me. It felt very awkward to control, walking with WASD in a top down-ish view didn't work for me. I wish I would have gotten the option to move the character with the mouse, like in Grim Dawn, Diablo and such. Other than that it had some things that were interesting. The rpg elements felt like they would work for example.

And I also checked out how the performance of The Callisto Protocol was. I turned everything up to max in 1440p and tested the performance difference between ray tracing on and off. With ray tracing on I only got around 35fps, with FSR 2 set to balanced, not good enough, I want at least 60fps on PC, since lower fps feels worse on PC than on console. With ray tracing turned off I got around 70-75fps. I didn't notice much difference visually between ray tracing on and off, so in this game I would rather play with ray tracing off, if I were to play it that is. And I don't know if the game still has performance/optimization issues, as it did att launch, on PC. I didn't experience any stuttering, but the performance wasn't the greatest on my PC. It seems like it's quite demanding.

Bought Hogwarts Legacy Deluxe Edition for PS5. Going to pick it up from Gamestop after work. That'll probably be the game I'll be playing the next few weeks. I plan on streaming my playthrough to PSU's Youtube so keep an eye out.

I've just finished the campaign of Grim Dawn, but I have a couple of things I wanna do before putting it down. It's definitely a solid Diablo clone type game. I have enjoyed my playthrough. Now I just have to wait for Steam to have the DLC in one of their sales, then I will come back to the game and play that.

After I'm completely finished with Grim Dawn I will have to make up my mind on what to play next. I might play Prey, or just go for something else, I haven't decided yet.

Well, I decided to go with Prey as the next game to play last week. So I've managed to come quite far into it this time. I'm really liking it so far. But sometimes it gets a bit frustrating that you run out of ammo and materials and such so often. It's kind of like the older horror games like the early Resident evil games for example. Other than that I'm enjoying my playthrough.

I've finished Prey now and I enjoyed my playthrough overall. It's a solid game from Arkane.

I think I will continue to play games from my backlog on PC and I think Bioshock is going to be my next game. Another game that I've started playing a couple of times, but never finished.

I added Prey to my Steam Wishlist, so I plan on picking it up when it goes on sale.

This week / weekend, I'm hoping to dive into Hogwarts Legacy. I only got through the character creation / tutorial and sorting hat stuff so far.

I played quite a bit of Hogwarts Legacy over the weekend. Got to level 17 and just got my first broomstick for flying around the map. So I think I'm still fairly early in terms of main quests, but I'm definitely over-leveled as I've spent quite a bit of time doing side puzzles & quests and finding as many field guides as I can.

I just finished Bioshock and I really liked it. Overall I enjoyed my playthrough and I'm looking forward to play the second game (that I'm downloading now). I got all three Bioshock games in a bundle a few years ago, and now I'm finally playing them.

Unfortunately I've had problems with Bioshock 2 Remastered, it keeps crashing without any kind of error message. I've googled around a little bit and there are several suggestions how to solve the problem, but none of them works for everyone, so I'm not going to bother trying at the moment. I downloaded the non-remastered version and I'm going to try that one out and see if it has the same problems. Hopefully not, I really liked it until it started crashing a little bit into the game.

Bioshock games I really enjoyed. Just glad the setting is a bit more old school it's a breath of fresh air compared to other shooters for me.
Yeah, I like the setting of these games and I like the fact that it's not just a straight up generic shooter, it definitely has its own personality and it has more to it than just running and gunning.

Luckily the non-remastered version of Bioshock 2 seems to be way more stable, no crashes so far. The slightly worse visuals (than the remastered version) is definitely worth it if it means the game won't crash a lot.

I played the games back in the 360/PS3 days. Yeah I like the 1940-50s style setting. Yeah I remember I got Bioshock 1 a while ago on Steam and it had problems with the sound not working had to find a video for a fix for it. I can imagine the ports would be lazy. But Ken Levines(Bioshock creator) new game Judas looks good from what I saw of the trailer at TGA last year.

The first game (remastered) actually only crashed once in my whole playthrough, but the remastered version of the second game started crashing every few minutes when I reached a certain point in the game. The non remastered version of the second game hasn't crashed once so far. I've had no problems with the sound in any of the games so far either.

And since they are a bit older they run really well on my new PC. I got around 400fps in the first game and somewhere between 300 and 400fps in the second game. That's at 1440p and max settings on everything. I've limited the framerate to my screen's maximum framerate (165fps) to not use unnessesary power when it's not needed.

I'm really enjoying it so far and I will most likely play Bioshock Infinite directly after I'm finished with the second game.

Yeah, Judas looks interesting too.
