wooo. Yippee. horayy!

Now where's the quality new AAA exclusives, Phil? You did jackshit but talk your way through the entire xbox one era when it comes to quality AAA games. The worst era of any xbox console by far. There's going to be no excuses for not having at least one new system selling major AAA i.p at this july event.

Okay, so there would be something wrong if the boos of Xbox would say any different, but if you're interested in what he actually said then take a look here:

https://www.videogameschronicle.com...launch-games-and-hardware-advantage-over-ps5/
Microsoft outengineered sony with their next gen hardware. They pretty much have the advantage in all areas except the SSD. They've already announced 2 console exclusive games with The Medium and Scorn and games like Dirt 5 running at 4k 60 FPS with a 120FPS option.

Just being honest, I felt good after seeing their show. I think the hardware advantages that we have built are going to show up as we’re talking more about our games and frame rates and other things."
Yes, those framerates are what we want to see and hear about. The graphics are pretty much a given.

I don't expect anything fancy, given their xbo era, xbox would love to have something over 80. They had zero over 75 metascore game as far as I can remember. They invested heavily in that department for a few years tho. They may suprise us, who knows?

Sadly Ms is not Sony or NN,that no matter what, they keep giving quality exclusive games in every generation. The only time that Ms had some quality games, was with 360.But after 360 success. They changed their strategy again, less games/more cash.....And now after their failure, they change their strategy again...I believe/hope this time they will give good games. But i will NOT support such a company, when i can clearly see their intentions....They only give games when they fail. But at least i will be able to play them :)

From a technical perspective, i think that's a given. The SX boasts the higher specs, so by extension, it should boast higher 'numbers', tho this is probs mostly going to be seen as resolution increases. As for what titles they bring, there is unlikely to be many (if any) third party exclusives on account of the astronomical costs of making games nowadays.

I don't particularly agree with what he says tho. I'd wager it'll end up being pretty much the same as Sony. The production value might get upped, but the content can't be anything more than we already know:
  • Halo
  • Forza
  • Hellblade (since this studio has not put anything out recently)
This would map to Sony's first party line-up they brought. On both sides, most have shipped something fairly recently (like Coalition with gears), meaning we kinda know who's still sitting on titles in production.

As a footnote, based on what he's said, and what has been said so far, the SX might be the most eye-roll-y one of the two. I can't wait to see more of Minecraft with raytracing talked out the arse... I like cool tech, but it's f'ing minecraft... Bring that quake demo instead which is fully raytraced if you wanna show off the tech on something old. That demo is actually amazing!

Well in long term they care about the most is gamepass and most of their games come to PC. I admit I don't like the ways they changed gaming in the past. They are usually all big talk but who knows they might surprise us.

What exactly is not true?Does Ms commit in giving exclusive quality titles, every generation, like Sony and NN does?360 was their last system that had descent games. What did you got this gen from them? But now that they are dead last by a mile, they are starting to "care" again...

The hardware capability is already in the bag for Microsoft next gen. Kudos to Phil for making sure that Series X is the most powerful next gen console. Now its time to see some of those first party titles they've been working on. I'm ready to play the next Halo.

Well it had the hardware advantage mid way through this gen but just not exclusives games to utilize it. Well in the end it's up to making decent games to get players interested. But usually Phil and Microsoft as a whole are all talk but like I mentioned I may be wrong. Unless Sony really screws up and I think making good exclusive games is the what's most important which is something Sony and Nintendo have done.

Halo, Gears and Forza Microsoft have but they need something else.

They have a lot more exclusives than just those three. That would be like saying Sony only has God of War, Gran Turismo and Uncharted.

True, but we are also seeing more console exclusive games coming to PC which i think is a good thing. Microsoft does need to step up their game in the first party studio stuff which i think they will do next gen. On the plus side they do have a good and successful subscription service.

Halo, Gears and Forza Microsoft have but they need something else.
The Medium and Scorn are 2 consoles exclusives for series x for next gen. Plus the unannounced stuff coming this month. All those new studios arent making Halo, Gears and Forza.

More saying that Microsoft need a new exclusive IP to innovate to get people interested in buying a console. Sony has success with lots of times with taking gambles and many times it has been successful.

Well that goes both ways in some ways it's good and some ways it's not so good. Yeah well if they can surprise people then they may have a chance but it will be tough. Yeah the subscription service is their real goal in long term both Microsoft and Sony are pushing digitization to the death.

Well as for those games most people will get them on PC. Unless Xbox does announce some interesting things like I said the question is for people will I buy a Xbox for this? The main thing at the moment that interest people is the power of it.

name them please. Just give me any ms exclusive that have some good meta score.
I like the way xbox handling next gen, they are really trying this time. And way more good than Sony. But we need to see results, they are preparing for this day since first year of xbox one since it was already decided back then xbox one is destined to "failed"

Microsoft does have exclusives that have good Metacritic scores, but then again, Metacritic has a very flawed system it uses. The witcher 3 was one of the best games released in 2015 but according to Metacritic Tetris was just as good. There is something wrong there imo. Come to think of it, reviews are just peoples opinions anyway. The xbox one didn't have a great generation but I would hardly say it failed. They have sold over 50 million consoles. Disappointing when you compare it to the xbox 360 or ps4 numbers but not a failure.

It doesnt failed, it sells third party games and consoles, gamepass is the best successful gaming system world has ever seen, they are doing everything right this time, business wise, on the other hand xbox one generation first party games were not even had a chance to compete with Sony's exclusives, first party was a killer by it self but adding to them sony made some huge 3rd party exclusives, like SF V, Nioh and Bloodborne. MS need to get support of third party devs, this kind of exclusivity hurts them alot. A fighting game fan has no business with ms, a JRPG fan has no business with ms, a souls game fan has no business with MS.

I just named 2 3rd party exclusives above with The Medium and Scorn and those are the ones we know about. There's bound to be more coming after the series x launches. As for fighting games, Killer instinct is still pretty popular with fighting game fans. JRPG is one area they need to work on. That's really the only genre they lack in at this moment. That's a weakness for them but they have The Outer Worlds IP now from Obsidian which isn't a JRPG but still a good game. Microsoft still has a ways to go to match sony's first party stuff but they are making some smart moves to rectify that. Sony still doesn't have a shooter like Halo or Gears in their first party lineup though. Those two games offer replay value sony has yet to match with any of their exclusives in my opinion.

It'd be naive to defend Microsoft's current generation in terms of games, but hell they've improved in hardware and services and it gave them returns. However, gamers do want first party games and I'm sure all this "Xbox has no exclusives" narrative will come to and end starting tomorrow.

See you then!

Most of the games shown are yet again not exclusives.

Usually Microsoft are hyping up things as usual ended up what most people expected around the same rating or a little less than Sony's recent show. Expected MS real long term goal is all for Gamepass. So next generation doesn't seem interesting so far. Suikoden veterans announced a game which seems more exciting.

The only thing that interests me so far is the new Fable game, which I hope they don't screw up.

I don't beliave that Ms cares for quality single player exclusives.....Their bussiness model is completely different than NN and Sony's.They want games that will continuously earn them money and single player games wont.Prepare yourself for mostly multiplayer type games....

Ryse: Son of Rome.
Sunset Overdrive.
Dead Rising 3.
Dead Rising 4.
Halo Wars 2.
Project Spark.
Super Lucky's Tale.
ReCore.
Quantum Break.
D4
Ori and the Blind Forest.
Ori and the Will of the Wisps.
Gears Tactics.

All of these were single player games. Not to mention, Gears of War and Halo come with a meaty campaign although they also have what is a multiplayer component. It is a myth that Microsoft does not care about single player games and most of this comes from their community driven games performing exceedingly well. Games like Forza Motorsport and even Forza Horizon have huge single player content.

Going forward, they have:
As Dusk Falls.
Avowed.
Fable.
Hellblade 2.
Wasteland 3.
Psychonauts 2.
Age of Empires 4.
Everwild.
Grounded.
Halo Infinite
State of Decay 3.

Forza Motorsport.

This is before we even get a look at what some of their other studios are doing.
