Pretty soon I see this thread becoming bombarded with photos. When this occurs I feel sorry for the 56k users in this forum.

Indeed. I agree on both fronts. But..... the Photo Icon should be given out to people who are truly dedicated to the area.

I could shuffle some stuff around a little bit. Perhaps pose the question in the icon topic. Or perhaps AJe will let us know about that happening. It would be great if it reflected the DS/MOD/SUB/, etc. Icons.

It depends, how much money do you have? You're going to need a good lens, or two..... but at least a good all purpose lens. Plus at least some sort of protective UV filter, etc.

Unless you mean like a point and shoot style digital camera?
I'm planning on buying a camera sometime soon, anyone got any suggestions/recommendations?
You haven't given much to go on.

What's the budget (range)

Are you looking for dSLR, compact, or bridging (between compact and dSLR)

What kind of photography will it be mainly used for (or is it just a general purpose/family camera)

You must have a lot of filers or do you alter the pictures digitally

Those images are 100% natural. No camera filter, no digital filter, no color altering or touching up in any way what so ever. The reason they look like that is because they are like 35 second exposures. Believe me, they are completely natural.

Here are some Shots I took when i went to ADAC Rallye Germany in 2007.

Im a Huge Nikon fan, and its all use. We have 4 Nikon cameras, the one I used to take these was a Nikon Coolpix S3. Its a small handy camera, so i did what i could.

I'm sure you already know this, but with moving objects and a slow crappy shutter speed you have to move the camera along with the action to keep the subject in focus. Still nice photos, never used a nikon, i've heard good things ... but i'll stick to canon, their pc software supplied with the cameras are second to none.
Welcome to the forums Negrito. Interesting photo. What is it of exactly. Looks like some kind of garden waterfall when I click it.
Pretty much. I live in Vegas, and in a casino (Bellagio) they have an amazing garden. And that is like some kind of 'mill' wheel that's turned by the water.

Here's another from that garden...
That's a great shot. Really love the colours and composition. Nice depth of field too.
Thanks, im an amateur right now, but i plan on heading back to college next semester. I want a degree in graphic design with a minor of photography. I have always loved taking pictures, and tried a few careers out. I just want to take pictures the rest of my life. I love being able to capture beauty, or other emotions and have the person looking at the photo thinking along the same lines i was when i decided it was worth it to snap the shutter....

Any who time to get ready for work. Have a good day.

I don't have a real camera and only use my phone and this probably won't appeal to anyone else, but I saw the sunrise and the light and knew I had to take a photo.

Can't actually take any credit for it, it was just the right timing, but I absolutely love the picture:

This one was seconds later. I prefer the waves in this one, but the darkness of the road/cars on the first.
