i know its not the most realiable site but its the only one that tracks european sales.going on these figures the ps3 is doing very well, outselling the xbox by 50000.what impresses me most are the ps2 figures, crazy stuff.a nice cash cow for sony.
I thought VGChartz were banned on here due to thier figures being complete rubbish?
I suppose if it's the only place with European numbers it's hard to prove they're rubbish.

Their figures are certainly flawed, but "complete rubbish" seems a bit strong; they're in the same ballpark as media create, NPD, and so on, and since those sources are all estimates too, who cares? They're frowned upon because they tend to report the Wii as outselling the PS3, that's all.

True, but one can guess from their previous track records that their numbers are prity innacurate. If a MS fanboy posted that the xbox beat the ps3 by 50,000 in europe, and posted his source as vgcharts, would you believe him?

How are you even supposed to read that thing? It looks like they all sold well into the millions each week... LoL

I love how people on this board suddenly thinks VGChartz is reliable when it shows good PS3 numbers, but when it shows bad PS3 numbers, it's the complete opposite.

The most impressive stat I've seen on that site is that according to those Euro numbers PS3 has sold 2.5mil units in 8 months while the 360 has sold 4.4mil units in 24 months. So until somebody finds Euro numbers contradicting these, I'll assume Sony is kicking ass worldwide (Japan is a given, MS will never, ever, ever grab a share of that market) outside of the US (Big market but not as big as the rest of the world combined).
vg chartz isnt reliable? its been pretty good to me when didnt it show correct numbers?
Why is it reliable? The site is banned over at NEO GAF and IGN Boards. The people behind the site (two nineteen year olds) have never said where they get the numbers from.

Total: (guess I'm in here?)

Spain: (not in here)

Italy: (not in here)

So people keep claiming, but they never offer any kind of solid evidence. Just an assertion that the numbers are Bad.

And yet, overall, they seem to track pretty close to the available numbers from other sources, so...

Yeah, but the numbers are also often way off from m-create and NPD. Don't trust VGChartz until the people behind the site actually prove where they get the numbers from.

Granted that they're off from media create and NPD... But who says media create and NPD are right? They, too, are a bit cagey about exactly what their sources are.

Well a lot of companies pay a lot of money to NPD for their numbers. As far as I know no one pays VGchartz for their numbers and they run pretty much off advertising on their web page. VGchartz is prolly run out of a home or a small business whereas NPD is a very large company. Go to NPD's site and try to get a job , you'll need like a PhD in math lol.
VGChartz also says Xbox360 sold 300k more than the PS3. :(
WHAT!!? If it says something like that.... then we obviously cannot trust the numbers!!!:suspect: Are these the type of people that post in these forums?

Seriously guys.... just a month ago when someone would post VGA Charts number saying how good the 360 was doing, they would get flamed. Now most of the people are accepting these numbers because they look better for Sony. Are you guys serious?!
