Is this that good? I'm just curious. It doesn't sound all the much. I tried to find PS2 launch numbers for Japan for comparison. Couldn't find it.

PS3 sold only like 88k in the first 24 hours in Japan. So by comparison, it's a really good number. haha.

http://www.dualshockers.com/2014/02/25/playstation-4-sells-322083-units-in-two-days-in-japan/

Looking at the data provided, Sony’s new console sold 322,083 units between Saturday and Sunday, which is quite flattering compared to the much more modest numbers moved locally by the PS3 in its first two days, 88,443 units.

[h=1]Sony Comments on PS4 Sales in Japan as the Second Shipment is Already Starting to Dry Out[/h]

On the first day of sales in Japan the PS4 didn’t seem to fly off the shelves, but things changed gradually until shops and online stores started to run out of stock between the tail of the weekend and yesterday, and this morning we learned that the console sold a rather flattering 322,083 units in the country.Sony Computer Entertainment Japan and Asia President Hiroshi Kawano witnessed the first sales with his own eyes, attending the launch by vising local stores in Tokyo “after sleeping only two hours,” as the night before he hosted the count down event. He told his take on the situation of sales to Nikkei Trendy:

We’re seeing the upsurge grow gradually in Japan. We want to clearly tell the concept of the PS4, that’s it’s different from PS3 and that its features are important. We want to show that it’s not just a successor.
He also talked about the situation of the availability of the console, explaining that some articles and comments that talked about slow sales may have been premature:

Mainly due to the fact that online stores shown “in stock” at the beginning, some said that the PS4 wasn’t selling well in Japan. Yet those sites gradually went to “out of stock” and over the counter availability has become scarce as well.

ps2 sold like 600k in 2 days. But that was a different beast outside of having to compete with the mobile market. I think the ps4 will do just fine in JP. There's no other console to turn to. WiiU isn't doing well there and Xbone... no comment.

It's sold 7 but one of those doesn't count as it was for a woman who thought she was buying a novelty bone, called the X-Bone, for her dog - she later returned the unit

The software line-up for the Japanese market is kind of a bit too western IMHO for the PS4 to have massive traction just yet. I think 300K is a healthy amount for 48 hours and once more 8th gen worthy eastern catering blockbusters hit we will see increased sales. Well, time will tell.

PS4 sales are starting out really strong. I wonder how long the buzz is going to last?

Here's the Wii numbers. Not only does the ps4 cost more but it has already passed 5.8m. The ps4 doesn't have a "wii fit" system seller either.

I think when the PS2 launched, didn't they sell like 500,000 units or something like that? if so, this isn't to far off and I think it's actually better than the PS3 launch. With that being said, it's no wonder why Sony launched first in NA

[h=1]PS4 Sold Out Almost Everywhere Again in Japan[/h]
http://www.dualshockers.com/2014/03...etailer-advises-to-grab-it-when-you-find-one/

With the beginning of March Sony is halting shipments of the “First Limited Pack” of the PS4 in Japan, moving from the bundle with Knack to the standard boxes without the game, and looks like almost all the units that were pushed into the market so far have now found a loving home.Amazon Japan, Yodobashi Camera, Bic Camera, Rakuten, Edion, Sofmap and every other retailer we checked has the console out of stock, and Yodobashi Camera also shows no stock in all its 21 stores across the country (which received further shipments on February 26th and 27th), as you can see in the picture at the bottom of this post. A new shipment is expected by the 5th.In the meanwhile Shunichi Kobayashi, director of the video game department of Akihabara-based retailer Trader mentioned to Mainichi Shinbun Digital that he doesn’t know when further shipments will come, advising customers to grab the console when they find one:

We’re not in a situation where you can buy it everywhere already, and I don’t know when it’ll be in stock. If you absolutely want it, I recommend that you buy it when you find one.
I didn't know ps4 cams were sold out too. They're selling for $100+ on ebay.
I wouldn't have that they'd be sold out either. I guess the price, and use, are appealing to a lot of people. I wonder if Sony isn't making them in a large manner, or if they are just really popular.

it might be a bit of both. what i do know is that it seems like Live from PS might have given a reason to own the cam. i want it too a bit...but at the same time, i'm afraid to stream my living room.

why do you need that for twitch? unless you mean ustream.

EDIT: i'm never going to buy another camera for games...i was only interested in streaming but my two past cameras were useless.
