I understand that is says estimate but are people getting slower speeds on the PS4 that are using wi-fi? When I do the speed test on the PS4, it says I'm getting like 100Kbps, I do it again and I'm getting 500Kbps. One time I was up to 1Mbps. I'm quite confused here and wondering if their speed test is bugged out?

I ran it twice and was between 12-13mbps down and 1.3-1.7 up

I think I'm going to run the PS4 five times when I get home, then run my PS3 five times and see how similar they are.

I have noticed that running a speed test on my PC always results in faster results than running the same test on my PS3

When you go the link I posted, you will get the Lite/Mobile version. If you open the menu nav at the upper left of the web page, you can "Visit Full Site" and it's pretty nice lookin'. :)

at work and decided to compare the results I got on that site vs Speedtest.net and I got an average of 56.mb/s Down and 3.8 mbs up on the site you posted and an average of 33.32/5.46 ave on Speedtest.net

The download Speeds were consistently less on speedtest, but the uploads were consistently faster. Those are rather large differences IMO.
Hmm, has been pretty accurate as far as my speeds go, and comparing them with speedtest.
yeah, I'll try again later today and see how they compare. It was just shocking when I did the speed tests with your link first and was up in the mid 50's for download speed and then the first test I run with Speed Test.net and I clock in at 11.3 lol

I do like how the site you posted does multiple files during it's test though. makes me think it should be more accurate.

Just tried that speedofme link and I got 63mb down on my ipad which is about what I get on speedtest.net. I'll try it on my ps4 after my daughter gets done watching the croods. The highest I've got from the built in speedtest on my ps4 is like 27mbs

edit: my ps4 is wired to router
Go to: http://speedof.me and run that one. ;) It's HTML5, no flash required, etc. Mine shows 16.16Mbs/1.75Mbs Compare that to the connection speed the system just showed: 13.6Mbs/1.4Mbs
Thanks F34R. I got 18.28mbps down and 1.75mbps up. +rep for having the answer once again. Edit - Says I have to spread it around.

I had to get a new router. This is the second one I returned in two days. The first was a Netgear 600, then I decided to get this other $200 netgear router which ended up fluctuating my speed between 150Kbps to 3Mbps. Now I got an ASUS and doing numerous tests it evens out around 18Mbps with sometimes it going down to 13Mbps and an upload of like 3Mbps sometimes 5Mbps.

I don't know what was causing that NETGEAR to go up and down so much. I would expect wi-fi to fluctuate a few Mbps but not at the point it was before. yikes. $200 NETGEAR 1900ac (don't know why I even bothered) and it was a pile of junk. o_O

Is it possible the differences are because the server home or whatever could be in different parts of the country that these speed tests use. I know for some it tests out of Atlanta hub for me and others out of Chicago so traffic etc could be different or further away. I know for fact though that testing on the PS3 the max I could get was 12mbs and now it shows on the ps4 27mbs....of course on my computer I get 60mbs. Who knows with these things.

23.95Mbps down and 5.19Mbps up. The DL speed is fairly consistent with what I observed day 1 when DL on the F2P, and PS+ games.

Not setup in a DMZ right now (will setup later), I've got a NAT2 connection over WiFi, overall fairly solid over wifi.

Tested at home. My PC was consistantly pulling in 30mbps Down and 5-6mbps up

On the Ps4 I can't seem to break 11.5mbps down or 3mbps up. Heck during one test last night the Upload speed beat the download speed

System is wired in using Cat6 cable and it's not a long run.
with that cat6 cable, are the differences noticable with using the 6 over the 5?
you've got me. I never ran a cat5 cable, tested and then retested with the Cat6 I figure the cat6 is probably over kill but you never know.

WiFi cuts your speed in half if its secured/wep enabled
And signal can effect it too
Try doing wired cconnection if you want full speed

This my 60mb connection over secured WiFi
I get 58mb on my PS3 though wired.

Nah. I'm under WPA2 Personal, and my speeds aren't cut due to the security.

I think it depends on the encryption tbh
64bit or 128bit encryption?
If def effects it, your encryption must fare better.
Edit
Just Googled it lol
Yeah the heavier the encryption the more it cuts into your speed

ok, just went to store and downloaded blacklight retribution, its 20 hrs left to go, really slow. 446mb update for it which normally takes me 3-4mins is taking 75mins. Not sure what is going on, whether its just a fault somewhere in my setup or a more widespread problem. It was fine up until today speedof.me was reporting 17mbs or so, i get around 21mb on laptop.

I downloaded bf4 2 nights ago.

It was 6.2gb for the initial install. I left the house and came back 5 hours later at midnight and it had only downloaded 2.7gb.

After midnight the mb counter started flying and it downloaded the rest of the game in just over 1 hour.
