PSN Error - 82000171 (Invalid Credit Card Details?)

Hi All!

I've been having issues trying to purchase anything on the PSN Store and fund my wallet. (I'm using an Australian PSN account)

The errors seems to think that the "credit card on file is invalid." However, I have checked the details at least 20 times now and still the same error occurs. I tried using PayPal and even different credit cards and still no luck.

Now, I've received an e-mail from PayPal stating that "Your payment agreement with Sony Network International has been cancelled". So. . . Why!? I am dying to buy the new Batman: Arkham Knight and this happens! Haha!

Has anyone had this problem before?

I'm not sure if this has anything to do with it, but like most people I also have a US PSN account. I currently live in Japan but don't think this factors into anything. :s

Anyone have ideas or could possibly help me! Would greatly appreciate it!

My PSN account has the same registered postal and residential address as my bank details, so I don't see why there should be an issue.

I've gotten this same error on a card that was already in the system, so no ... it's not necessarily incorrect information. Have you tried contacting technical support?

Not yet, I was trying to see if anyone had the same problem and check if I could resolve the issue before contacting tech support.

Looks like I'll be doing that pretty soon!

got the the error tech support told my billing info is wrong

Hey there! I had the same problem with it saying my details were incorrect but they weren't! I found if you went into the PlayStation Store and scrolled down to "Payment Methods" then added your credit card details through there it should work for you.

If not, sorry I couldn't help :(
