Question about Rep Power ranking

I was curious how exactly it is calculated. Are you suppose to get +1 for each person that +Rep's you? Or is it a culmination of several things?

Example from my own profile:

No. It is based on how many posts you have, and how long you have been a member. Only these two things.

i have a rep power of 22 so i fi gave you rep you would get 22 points

the point are shown in the user cp

at each milestone you get a higher rep power (yours is 7)

the pips i do not fully understand, but i think they are representative of teh amount of time repped rather than the rep power (as 1 rep from coma, is worth about 96 reps from individual members with 1 rep power in terms of rep points, but the reps the people give you would go towards the pips (for instance i have more rep power than kewnoth, but he has more pips, thus he has been repped more often than me, but just by members with lower rep)

I think I have a better understanding of the system now. I curious when I see some newbie users who is like a week old that has a rep power of 14 and over 1000+ posts. Just wanted to make sure there wasn't something wrong with my account.

I got my rep from giving out information members like or need and just repping people for their awsome posts they make. Also remember do not rep someone thinking you will get rep back its a wast and you want rep for the right things and not because you want to increase you rep power bar

No, you would get 20 points added to your rep received. Which you can view in your user cp.
