I have Clearwire as my IP,1.5 kbps down and 256 kbps up,going to a D-Link model#DI-524 wireless
router. My PC and my PS3 both have a port on the router, and I just recently did network
configurations to get NAT 2 on the PS3.My problem is when I do a broadband test through
Speakeasy.com on my PS3,I get over 1.5 down,but the highest upload I've gotten is 13 kbps,but I go
to the same site on my PC and get 256 upload everytime.I used to use WI-FI,but found the lag to be
quite annoying,so I wanted to switch to wired instead.I have switched the the CAT-5,and have also
done numerous power cycles.I wanted to ask advice before looking towards repair/replacement.
Thanks in advance

This is a E-mail I sent to Sony Online Customer Service and the answer was less than helpful so any help here would be appreciated

Well I know the PS3 has bad internet connecion but what I would do is stick your PS3 in the DMZ to see if that helps. It will forward all the ports to your PS3 and might help with the upload speed.

Or you could try forwarding specific ports. If that doesn't work let me know and I will try and think what else could fix it. I know my upload speed sucks too but it works fine for gaming. And I am on wireless.

Hmmm well then I am clueless I know the upload always sucks on the PS3, thats how mine reads too. The only thing I am thinking is maybe the PS3's browser is just bad at that kind of data transfer, since I always get crappy results but I can play online fine.

No I haven't but I don't think that lag in COD4 has anything to do with your connection. Mine lags to sometimes not a lot but it does sometimes. I think it is on the host.

Thanks for the rep.

I wouldn't rely on the PS3 browser to give you accurate results, its buggy as hell. Can you try other games to see if you still get lag? I know Resistance uses central servers instead of host-based games like COD4. COD4 can get really laggy sometimes, even when its indicating a moderately strong connection.

I've got horrible upload as well with my PS3. I also experience lag in COD 4 but not really in other online games. My best guess it its the host and not your connection. Just out of curiosity. Have you checked to see what your upload/download speeds are on the PS wired directly to the modem? It may not differ all that much truthfully. I think that while the ps browser is a nice addition, it just isn't doing that great of a job as a pc browser would.

so is mine, wired to the router or not, my speed isn't much different. I myself am using a D-Link WBR-2310. Cheap wireless router. 26 bucks at circiut city. It does what it needs to do =)

I only lag infrequently in COD4 and in NBA 2k8 but they online service has always been laggy. 2K NEEDS to work on that. Everything else is smooth
