Ninja Theory is a third party developer but they would make a great company to own

Ninja Theory err no thanks. When Sony buys devs it's studios with a trackrecord of real quality, Evolution for example with 6 consecutive million sellers. Ninja Theory had $20m+ on Heavenly Sword and didnt deliver the system seller. Along with Factor 5 i might add.

I don't get why sony bought them as its a given that a motorstorm 2 would come to PS3 anyway.

that money should have been used to get exclusives instead buying a company that was close with sony anyway.

Just got my Ps3 through the other day, Motorstorm was the first game to drop through my door.
Gotta say, it'sa ****in mind bogglin good! At first I found it weird and frustratin how there was no map, and there's no such thing as the fastest corner. But after a while, it became nature :p Love the atmosphere, the adreniline, the ragdoll physics.. Just the entire thing! And I'm not even that far through it yet! xD

And to know there's a sequal... Sounds great! Just hope it's no time soon! I wanna see the developers put the additional content to use first. Ya know, give Motorstorm some updates to tweak it to perfection and whatnot.

But aye, a sequal! Great! Hope we can get to customise our own vehicles too! :D

Because they are very close to Sony. And are a constant AAA developer. A top line developer. Sony would also love to buy Insomniac and Naughty Dog aswell i'm sure. The ps3 has a **** ton of exclusives coming in the next 18 months. Buying Evolution is neither here nor there in that regard.

I think Ninja Theory did a good enough job. I'm pretty sure Heavenly Sword will sell well and be profitable. It'd be awesome if Sony can sign them up as an exclusive studio.

Well that's good because Motorstorm is a cool game.
When they make number 2 they should add offline multiplayer.

For $20m+ funded by Sony. Sony would expect a very good game and system seller. Same with Factor 5 and Lair. Both flops in that regard. I would think Sony will definately drop Factor 5 and as far as Ninja Theory goes sales will dictate that. Basically 2 of Sony big exclusive releases before fall have flopped. And Sony wont be happy. Taking the big bucks means you've got to produce the goods.

Just because it's not a blockbuster, that doesn't mean its a flop. Unlike Lair, HS has got good reviews, in the Motorstorm range. So don't see why it can't be profitable for Sony.

It's not about being profitable. Sony wants these big budget games to be system sellers the reason they spend the big bucks. An ok game for probably $20m or $25m isnt good enough. Anyway people were saying Sony should buy Ninja Theory, i say not a chance that Sony would be interested.

While I agree that Ninja Theory still as quite a bit to prove, Heavenly Sword is a great game. It might be too short, but for what it offers, few can complain.

Hopefully Motorstorm 2 will have offline multiplayer. I would have gotten many many more hours out of the original if it did.

Motorstorm was quality for a first effort, and im sure the devs know what people think about split screen and how long cars took to load.

Clearly many have forgotten about Guerrilla Games
many ppl saw Killzone as mediocre and a disappointment
But Sony Saw potential after seeing how ambitious they were on their first game

So what do they do?
They buy Guerrilla Games and fund them for their Sequel
a few years past and BAM! Killzone 2's pre-alpha build appears and everyone's jaw drops to the floor

makes ya wonder what they got in plan for Motorstorm 2 ;)

Since Sony bought the studio it means that they will have a bigger budget more developers ----> closer match to the infamous E3 trailer:)

Well, now that they are first party, we can hope for that first awe-inspiring video that was shown. I'm sure you all remember it.

Yes Wipeout. And i'm sure Evolution have talked about a new WRC with Sony.
