So info for this title is starting to leak. This is from Feb this year though - but quite a lot of info there to digest.

For those who are interested -

http://forum.tdu-central.com/showthread.php?t=8787

The developers have listened well to the userbase by the look of these sequel updates -

Off-Road vehicles and courses
Motocross bikes
ATV's
Full 24 hour day-night cycle
Petrol stations are also making an appearance apparently - more info in that thread...

Between TDU2, Forza Gotham Racing Edition and the F1 title coming from Codemasters it's looking good for racing enthusiasts around about the end of 2009 to early 2010.
nice, I loved TDU when I had a 360 so I can't wait to get this on the Ps3.
Has the PS3 version been announced yet? Atari would be crazy not to get it out on as many platforms as possible what with TDU being released on 360/PC/PSP and PS2...

Will never buy another TDU game. Had TDU on pc. Game was buggy to say the least. They released one patch which did not fix any bugs, but you got a Skyline so apparently that makes up for the game being unplayable. After releasing their one "patch" they basically turned their backs on those of us who purchased the coffee coaster that is TDU.

Was a **** poor rushed excuse for a game. Which is a shame because if it had of actually worked it would have been a great title.

Every once in a while I get the urge to re-install, then realise I have done that 15+ times already and ened up throwing the disc accross the room.

Not sure if they had solved the issues on console though?

^^

On 360 it was/is constantly patched and quite a lot of content is on the marketplace for it. The game is buggy for sure, the frame rate is very unstable at times, the handling model leaves a lot to be desired amongst quite a few issues. But the game does bring the genre forward. The open world racing is a massive draw for me personally, I spent hours that would add up to days/weeks just haunting people around that island. Not even challenging them to races, just random lurking that would start with 2 players that would grow into maybe 4-6 in a roaming mini blob. It's also one of the prime games in the group of mates I know on Live - as will be TDU2.

I dunno - good times will be good times I guess...

Don't get me wrong I think it was an awesome concept, just executed very poorly on the PC. Issue was that my save game would corrupt at random intervals, once it was corrupted there was no-way to roll back. In the end I lost patience with the lack of support for the game.

Same here, and I don't remember it being buggy in the slightest, nor suffering particularly from framerate issues.

Doubt I'll buy the sequel though, been there and done that, the idea of having to fill up at petrol stations isn't really making me want to buy it again.
