Just thought that I would let everyone know that this wireless keyboard / mouse works like a dream with the PS3. I took a gamble today and picked this up for my PS3 after hearing several retail clerks say that it would not work because the PS3 could not download the software. Well they were wrong and I can kiss "double tapping" goodby :)!

The EX110 by Logitech also works, its black so it matches my PS3. I was looking at the S510 but it was expensive compared to the one I got, I got it for 39.99 minus 20 rebate, 19.99 :D.
NICCCCCE! I hope Sony releases first party blue tooth keyboards and mice for the PS3
Sony said that it would not be releasing any keyboards or mice for the PS3. Sure makes posting here from you PS3 a hell of a lot easier!

I'm gonna get it from amazon for 29.99 just because you mentioned it. Looks nice. How far is the wireless though?

No idea, I have a small living room so I can't say much for it but its probably 10 FT. It might be more. I can run some tests when I get home.

I thought any wireless keyboard with a USB receiver would work.

Ye I believe the same thing. Pretty much as long as the keyboard does not require drivers to work and plugs into the USB port, it will work.

That'd be great, thanks. I saw a review for 12FT, so I think I'm good (I'm at most 8 ft from the TV in my room.

Yep, I'm using one of these on my PS3 too. One thing I haven't figured out is how to program the quick launch buttons. Were you able to do that?

Don't suppose anyone with a PS3 has a G7 Logitech mouse, perchance? I'm not sure whether or not it works with generic drivers - it's not something I considered when installing it..

I was worried about distance at first too, but once I got it set up I moved back to like 10ft.;)

Only on a PC which can download the drivers. If you can find linux drivers and then use linux, yes you can do that :p.

i have a Saitek Gamers' keyboard (the silver one with blue lights) and it isn't being recognized as a keyboard by my ps3, it lights up and has power but won't let me type. It did work a little while ago, it could have been the update? any suggestions?

Not sure if that is a long term goal or if Sony has changed their position or not? :???:

I bought a wireless keyboard and mouse and it didn't work more than 6ft away. I basically gave it to a goodwill store.

Bought a bluetooth and it works fine on my PC, which is why sony needs to hurry and add support to the ps3.

Some work with the PS3 and some don’t because they were designed for the PC and the software drivers are windows / OS based. Some have a very limited range (6’ or less). Hopefully the third party manufactures will recognize a big market for the PS3 and will release new models with drivers the PS3 can support. ;)

no it's not 3rd parties that can fix this.

the ps3 has bluetooth built in, it just can't recognize a bluetooth keyboard and mouse.

That is correct the PS3 does not currently recognize Bluetooth keyboards and mice.

I'm almost sure there was a thread on working/non-working USB devices already. Anyways, good to know you found a working one. I actually also gambled on it and picked the S510 up a month before launch, so that I wouldn't have to go one day of controller typing come launch day. Works like a charm, but only when you're within range. It seems that anything over 10 feet away, the transponder stops picking up every few keystrokes, making forum posting irritating. Otherwise, it's a great keyboard :D
weird, i tried using the lodgitech blue-tooth keyboard and it didnt work.. imma try again
So far Bluetooth combos DO NOT work. There is no way for you to register your keyboar/mouse to the PS3. Only Keyboard/mouse combos with USB reciever will work.
