The New Friends List, Pretty cool with MW2

I know lots of people complained about the new look of the friends list, and I think now we're starting to see why changes were made.

I noticed now with the release of MW2 that instead of just telling you what game your friend is playing, it gives detailed information about it. Like if they are playing Multiplayer or single player, and what level they're on, or what type of multiplayer game they are playing. Heck I noticed yesterday that it told me that my friend was just at the MW2 main menu.

Just thought it was pretty cool and I hope future games do this as well.

I still rather have the old ones back. I don't really care what level or mode my friends are playing.

I must admit, i've wondered what some of the people on my list do when there is no info being displayed. Paranoia i tell you!

But yeah, its cool, i'm not to fussed but its cool none the less , unless you really dont want them to know what you're doing because there is no 'appear offline'

Ahh...but you can set your tag as unavailable. That way people won't bother you with messages and such.

What was the point if all it could do was show what mission/map youre playing. You can easily just message the person!

I've also noticed that some friends are up in the 8 month to 1 year + category with out signing in. but my Brother in law who has only been off line for only a month or two has no date next to his name anymore. I wonder if that's because he has no internet anymore So people not regularly connected to the net show up with no time shown since last on?? Another friend who also moved and has no internet, shows up the same. Or maybe it's just a glitch? who knows. lol

ahhh, none of my friends have it so then I wouldn't know.

MW2 is the first game that I've noticed with it. Didn't know if the newer style friends list had something to do with it or not.

Yeah other games implement that feature also. Socom, LBP, NBA2k10,NFS Shift to name a few. As for you having friends on your friendlist that haven't logged in for a year...., I delete anyone that haven't logged in for a month

Yeah

And they didn't need a grey box to show what level people were on etc.

Yeah, its nothing new.

Most developers just dont implement it in PS3 versions of games, for whatever reason. I hope more do so.

I think its a thing that the game developer has to put in. Its like the players meet option, not all games have that.

Nope. I find it very inconvientent to have to go into the XMB to invite friends to a game or to go into a game. I have no idea why they would do this. It's STUPID!!!

Its really my only grip with this game so far, Im loving it, but it was a stupid move.

I can't believe that your complaining at a more advanced feature.. That's like complaining about a new "good" fw update... "I wish that the ps3 had no trophies, I shouldn't have updated"... If it bugs you then don't pay any attention to it
