From the pages of IGN:
Think it's a great idea for people who want to stream the PS4 to their PC like the X1 but couldn't and for a small one off payment on $10 it won't break the bank (no doubt people will still want it to be free though) good if you don't like using the Vita or have no Android phone
People can stream from their PlayStation 4 to their PlayStation Vita, but a newly developed program hopes to bring remote play functionality to the PC as well.
Appropriately named Remote Play PC, the unofficial program sets out to do exact as its straightforward name implies: turning your PC into a recognizable remote play device, and letting your PS4 stream gameplay to it.
The developer of the program, who goes by the name Twisted, has some experience with Sony's hardware and getting the remote play feature to work on unsupported devices. The official version released for Android was limited to Sony Xperia phones and tablets, but Twisted managed to get it to work on a much wider range of Android devices.
Back in June, he announced his plans for the PC version of the software, and now he's preparing to release the first version of it this Wednesday, November 25. It will be $10 to use, however. As Twisted explains in a blog post, charging money for it would allow him to keep working on the program and providing user support.
"I’d like to work on this project full time, adding features, getting it stable and porting it to other platforms which I know a lot of you want," he said. "The only way to support this is to charge for the app, all my previous projects have been free and I don’t want to have to but sadly its the only way to support my living costs."
Currently, only the Xbox One has official console to PC streaming capabilities. We'll have to wait and see if Sony has plans to do the same, and if the company will respond to Twisted's latest program.
