Good day boys and girls. Since there's been no official confirmation of Gran Turismo 5's car customisation options i took the liberty to analyse some screens we have of the game so far and came up with something rather surprising. I'm not sure if these have already been discussed or posted so don't hack me to bits if it has, lol.
The first image :
*Notice the icon highlighted with the RED CIRCLE. It displays a model of a car with the bumper, side-skirts, rear bumper and rear wing highlighted in white indicating a editable region of the car. This says custom bodykits to me and it might be visual only, thats just my theory. There's no indication of changing the hood of your car in this icon, however in the performance modification menu of which there are already images floating on the net there is an option to change the hood of your car to carbon fibre leading me to believe that these changes in this screen could only be cosmetic.
*Notice the icon highlighted with the GREEN CIRCLE. Obviously wheel changing options.
*Notice the icons highlighted with the BLUE CIRCLE. Custom body and wheel paint options obviously as you can see the icon of the wheel and body is awash with different color. Pretty much confirms that part of the game.
*Notice the ?? marks on the last two icons. Not entirely sure but i'll take a guess. The first icon with the stripped out body suggest to me weight reduction modifications, just my theory and the last icon suggest a livery editor (custom car graphics). Notice the icon of the car has graphics on the hood and side all highlighted in white, similar to the situation with the icon circled in RED. Just an observation of course but nothing confirmed yet.
The second image :
Livery editor is all i can say. I've never seen a Mercedes Benz SLS look like that from the factory.
The third image :
Well this is a new one and pretty much confirms custom body paint. Also cool that you can add other manufacturer colors to your car. Mclaren Orange on an Audi R8.
