Wow, that is really expensive.

Are all cards similar size as expensive?
You mean non-Vita sd cards? No way, it's usually a dollar per gig

These prices are still a huge rip off, but better than the rumoured prices that came from Gamestop (32gb - $120)
Ouch! But if youre buying the physical copy of the games then a 4gb should do you for awhile yeah?
Definitely

Getting close to 'okay'.

Sony... I don't care if you put flash memory in some weird shaped plastic housing, it's still flash memory. Stop overcharging for it.

look at the bright side they could have went the Apple route & made us pay $100 more for 32GB over the 16GB model.

or you can look at the not so bright side where we can buy 32GB cards for less than $30.

but don't worry someone will make a way to use cheap cards in the Vita. but then again I think Sony went in the way of MS where no one can sell accessories without their say so.

I bought a 16GB microSD for about 11 bucks three months ago.

These prices are absolutely ridiculous.

Microsoft can't say who can and can't make accessories. Neither can Sony.

Do we know what class these cards are?
Even a 32GB micro SD class 10 only cost ~$50 so it's still double the price.

Once the usual sites get their hands on them they will do the speed tests and start posting the class ratings.

the starter pck actually justifies the 4gb price. However, for the other ones..

Anyways, I plan to pick up a rip off 32gb, because I intend on downloading games that I own

I will only play physical when I rent

are you sure about that? I thought 3rd parties had to get a license from Microsoft & be approved to make Controllers & other accessories that work with the Xbox 360.

I am sure about that. They have to be licensed if they want to have the Official Xbox seal on their product.

He probably meant officially licensed products, and we know those that aren't can be blacklisted in FW.

I have a feeling those are micro SD built in proprietary shells. I'm getting a 4GB with the first edition bundle and at those rip off prices, I will stick to game saves on my bundled card until the prices drop or SONY decides to make game saving off the physical game media mandatory so I can use the mem slot for other things. If Cloud saving is an option, I might get a PSN+ account again instead

EDIT: was a little slow on the draw with that post.... Blame it on multi-tabs!

oh ok but I remember something about no 3rd parties being able to use the Wireless connection for their controllers or something like that.

Wish Sony made it compulsary for developers to free up some space on game carts for saving, we will probably see that in the future. The EU PS blog didn't even cite the 32gb price..which is strange

I'll probably import one from the states in that case, will work out cheaper. Don't think I'd be charged anything extra on top of it

Probably already said, but as it looks right now, they made the entry price lower than expected but the actual cost is going to be a lot more than anticipated if we don't have third party adapters ready by launch. That's the other good thing about the staggered launch. It'll give some companies time to get the adapters produced.

Yea i guess this is a lot better than what apple do, charging a lot more for the 32 GB version compared to a 8 GB version.
