Does the r stand for Radeon? I thought the 8000 series were the newest ones.

Okay, that makes sense.

Wikipedia says the 9000 series won't be coming out until 2014.

I don't put much stock into leaks/rumors but I hope it will be 2013 release date. I think PS3 has hit its ceiling and it only will start declining. It is no denying they are gearing up for the next console when there isn't much coming in the pipeline as far as exclusives goes outside of The Last of Us. The signs are there that devs are focusing heavy on developing for PS4/Orbis. It's just a matter of when they announce it.

has noone noticed that this just tells you what we already know, and then points out the blindingly obvious?

2012 Q3 – first true hardware prototype devkit

O RLY

Given that devs have had the Durango kits for months now, and it is much expected for an official release date and unveiling by MS be performed in the next few months.. Sony really dropped the ball there. Talk about behind.
