Hey all. PSU in its entirety is in the process of moving. We will no longer be hosting PSU on our own servers. Instead we are moving the home page content to WordPress along with the forums being migrated to XenoForo. I don't have any information as to a target completion, but the work is currently in progress.

More later.

Yep. It is like a desert in here!

My hope, though, is that the ability to login/register in the forums with social media accounts like Twitter will make it easier and more appealing for NEW members to join.

Hey.....I can still dream, right?

In before snarky comments from one or two members we haven't seen in ages.

Also, do you mean to say PSU will become a news blog like Gematsu? This would be a welcome change for the main site, in my opinion. I feel there are too many ads and site redirects on any given article that will sometimes get in the way of leaving a comment and successfully loading the page.

I can't say the ads will change. I don't have any control over them. But yes, essentially a more streamlined PlayStation news blog is what we are going after. Wordpress has a number of tools that help to bring more traffic in. Stuff that Steven and I have had to *try* and implement manually (praying to the Google gods along the way). I feel like this will be a major boon for the site as a whole. We have been held back by older technology for far too long.

It is about freaking time. Is that a glimpse of light at the end of the tunnel I see? I hope so. The forum software is on its last leg and I know that's been keeping you guys from doing some of the things you've wanted to do. Thanks for the notice, Chris. I hope you're doing well. And Steven too.

Yeah, hoping we can turns things around.

Xenforo has now been tested,so will be going ahead with the big import very shortly

Wordpress is coming along nicely. We've imported games and now we're importing images and authors etc. Still some time to go but pretty confident we'll be launching this year.

Good to see you, Tidal! The URLs should remain the same. I believe XenForo does handle redirects so that if you have a link to a thread saved it will translate it. But otherwise, you would just navigate to www.psu.com like always.
