It's just a matter of downloading something from the Internet, plugging your iPhone/iPod touch into your computer and clicking jailbreak. It's then just a matter of letting it do it. Really quick and easy.

As long as you haven't updated to 6.1.3 then you can jailbreak.

You can downgrade to 6.1.2 if you have an A4 device, but that excludes the iPhone 5 and 4S, I believe.

I have an iPhone 4! What are the risks of it becoming a brick? Over the past year or so I have at various points, looked in to Jailbreaking but that has always put me off doing it

At home, I use OSX, Win7, and Win8. I prefer OSX (mountain lion). iOS 6.1.3.

I used to jailbreak the iPhone for fun and necessity, but I did get tired of it crashing. When iOS added music play in the background and folders, I decided I could live with it at that point. I do have a couple jailbroken AppleTV2s, but jailbreaking is almost a necessity unless you have your movies in iTunes format.

Work is all WindowsXP Pro all the time.

As my signature states: I use Linux MInt 13 Maya with the MATE Desktop Environment. After a long time of Gnome 2.x....Gnome 3 was to much of a departure!

What Desktop Environment do you Linux users use?

I believe it requires redsn0w and Windows, won't work on the Mac. It's kind of complicated though, if it's something you're interested in I'd do a bit of research.
