I just finished testing my computer for prey with the "can you run it" scan on gamespot, and it failed because it said I required at least 512mb of ram(I've got 446MB)

But on the same test it failed my computer for FEAR and for the exact same reason, but when I ran it on low settings it worked very well. So does anyone know if my machine will be able to handle prey?

I have P4 1,4 , 512mb ram, gf mx 400 64 sd mem and I ran it. I played with config, maxed out everything (yeah, I like games to look good even on this old crap) and it is faster than 1 sec slideshow. Only demo though...
I cant run FEAR, that requires gfx card with shaders...

well, I just tried the demo and it worked perfectly on high. I had to tone down the resolution to 640x480 to get a fixed frame-rate though. So I guess the whole "can you run it" thing is more of a recomendation than a test.

oh yeah, and here are my specs:

446mb ram
Geforce 6150le
AMD 3400

your processor and graphics cad are similar to mine. I have a 3500+ and a X80XL, but I have 1Gb of RAM. I can run it a 1024*768 at a veery playable framerate. Try getting another stick od 512Mb of RAM. Its quite cheap now £30-£50 depending on whether you go for budget stuff or not.

You should be able to run it at low low resolution. It should play a little better than Doom3 (it uses the same engine but optimized). Another little thing, Prey caps out at 60fps.
